Interesting... so tell me something, what would your thoughts be on those that qualify for Euro 2020 and WC 2022 when you learn that a spot has to be given to one of the bottom 16 sides of Europe thanks to the Nations League (if it goes ahead)? Yes, this includes the world cup. Which means, if we used the current rankings, Luxembourg and Azerbaijan are more likely to qualify for the World Cup then France or Switzerland.

Yep, three spots of both the Euros and World Cup have to go to lower ranked sides, so that's something for San Marino to play for. At least it means Finland could be the only Nordic country in the World Cup.

I hadn't heard anything about this " Nations League until now!!

I really hope it doesn't go ahead. Sounds like a stupid idea.

Actually, quite the contrary. One of the most common complaints, that being that teams rarely never play with other teams of similar strength, will finally be addressed. Which means you're more likely to see England will play more of France, Germany, and Italy, then they would Lithuania, Slovenia, and San Marino. AKA, it gives a club feel at the national level, since promotion and relegation are included (4 up and 4 down for all leagues), and it means everyone plays a meaningful game, including the bottom sides.

Actually fun fact; did you know that San Marino has played more matches against the Netherlands then they have against Liechtenstein, the Faroe Islands, Malta, Andorra, and Luxembourg combined? Heck, did you know that they have never played against Andorra and Malta?

The result of the Nations League means an extra little competition that gives friendlies more meanings and shortens the qualifying process. Yes, there is qualifying, where 20/24 of the spots are determined for the Euros and 10/14 for the World Cup. The other 4 places, you've guessed it, are determined by the Nations League, where the champion of each group per division will play off for their division's spot. These are the last to be determined.

So yeah, it's official, you're more likely to see Azerbaijan or Lithuania in WC2022 then you are seeing Egypt or China there.

Wales are a plucky side. We played them 3 times now in the last +/- 18 months and managed only 2 draws at home and a 1-0 defeat away. Not once did they look like they were the better team, but they have a lot of character and it seems to work to have the whole team playing in service of Ramsey and Bale.

What makes Wales so dangerous is that if they just hang on til late they know Bale is the man to pull something from nothing to get a win. He is extremely fit and even in off games will draw attention and often fouls, and we all know what he can produce from there. So often in his final year with us, he/we were poor for 80-85 mins and he'd just outrun his opponent and smash home a worldy or draw a FK and do it from the dead ball

Lol Scotland
Even better seeing Greece at the bottom.
Northern Ireland should get through from their group now, beat Hungary at home Monday and they are through to their first big stage since 86

Do they play home and away in the group stage.

The tournament is held in France and they only play each other once.

Also, hard to believe that Greece were a whisker from the WC quarter finals last year. The way they have fallen is quite remarkable.

That's true.
Just think this will be the best Welsh side we have seen for quite some time over the next couple years as long as Bale and Ramsey continue to progress and stay injury free. Got some good kids coming through too.
You gotta remember Wales won last night without the Welsh Xavi aswell. Tremendous effort.
