United weren't seeded and got an easy draw, good luck v bad luck.
Good luck: Benfica, Zenit, PSV

Bad luck: Bayern, Juve, PSG, Barca

More likely to get your draw still.

Benfica & Zenit would have been a 50/50 call on. Goes to show just how lucky Man U were and they still managed to * it up!

Agreed, all I'm arguing for is that in the UCL while your performance determines a lot there are elements of luck in the draws.

Winning two F.A. Cups in a row isn't "good luck". Simple. Regardless of draw, opponent, whatever. Spin it however you like, it just isn't.

Draws are draws, and you can only play who you're drawn to play against. Anything else on this matter is just bvtthurt opposition supporters whinging - likely due to their own club's extreme lack of success.

You sure as hell don't see any City, Chelsea or United supporters having a go at the F.A. Cup draw favouring Arsenal or anyone else. But then again, they aren't minnow clubs - they're clubs that have actually won important trophies in recent memory (y).

The draw has been good luck. Never said winning it was. Anyone who thinks otherwise is surely trolling ok both parts

I often see United fans complaining about FA Cup draws. Look no further than this thread...

So.... how about that FA Cup guys.

They're discussing aspects of the FA Cup draw. Seems the appropriate thread for that.

It's not as if, for instance, they're laughing at a club's prospects of relegation in a transfer thread.

Arguable.
2013/14 was lucky in terms of location, but it was a tough run (Tottenham, Liverpool, Everton...Wigan/Manchester City......Hey, they were drawn with Man City.......Until they lost in the 6th round)
2014/15 was alot easier in terms of competition, but Man Utd away is never easy (besides the Moyes era). That trip alone probably made that cup tougher than the previous one which had 3 of the tougher premier league opponents in it.
2015/16 is starting to look like luck though. Too early to judge though. Still some decent teams out there and if they land one in the 6th round?

Good to see Klopp sticking to his word and playing a side made predominantly of youngsters in these domestic cup competitions, even in such a crucial game against a strong & experienced opponent like West Ham.

Chirivella, Teixeira, Smith, Ibe, Ojo & Stewart have all relished the opportunity and responsibility given to them by Klopp, and most have made a significant step up in their development this season because of it. Brad Smith for example; there are strong calls for him to take over as our first choice LB because of the quality he's displayed in these games.

Michail Antonio with another goal.

Victor Moses ain't getting back into the team anytime soon.

Looking forward to seeing Mignolets save from Payet's Free-Kick as well.

Bugger. Good finish by Antonio. Disappointing end to a half where for the most part we've been the better side. Sturridge to come on in the 2nd half, hopefully he remembered to bring his shooting boots.

Hit the post, rebounded back to the top of the 6 yard box where it was headed back at goal, Mignolet got back to his feet in time to scramble across and punch it clear.
