Wonder if we might get the following

4 double up against the Top 6
1 double up against the Middle 6
0 double up against the Bottom 6

It's quite plausible for the AFL to do that

Thankfully we can't get 4 double ups against the top 6 (Max of 3)

We won't even get 3. I'd say we will get one in Geelong.

If they use the same system as this year we can't get one either, has to be a minimum of two

Sat Down and came up with these double ups for 2015.

Top 6- Geelong, North Melbourne (6th, 4th)
Mid 6- West Coast, Adelaide (9th, 10th)
Bot 6- Western Bulldogs (14th)

Seems reasonable i suppose, otherwise i'd be tempted to substitute an Adelaide with a Gold Coast.

1 Friday Night/1 Thursday Night (2 W/N Prime time games) Against big drawing Melbourne clubs
Essendon over there and Sydney over here (Finally)
5 Breaks less than one week (4 6 and 1 5) (Brisbane earlier this year had a 5 day break back from Adelaide)
2 MCG Games, 4 Etihad Games (vs Melbourne, Richmond, Saint Kilda, North Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, Essendon)
8 FTA games (Around where we deserve for finishing Top 6)

I like it, although there could probably be a few improvements made, i invite anyone to go in and change a few things around.

Thoughts?

Sat down tonight and came up with these double up matches for 2015.

Fremantle- Geelong, Essendon, West Coast, Adelaide, Western Bulldogs (1,2,2)
We will not play 2 bottom 6 teams and we will not play 1 top 6 team

Edit: Just saw fixture you did with north twice, looks good. Ignore that ^

Cheers!

I reckon we can expect something like that, though, ideally we would play one more MCG game and one less ETIHAD game, though i think we would take that, we would probably win a reasonable amount of games with that fixture..

Surely Freo vs Port should be on Saturday night. Both clubs have earned that spot more than the Weagles and Bulldogs.

Agreed. What a yawnfest on the Saturday! Surely nobody is really that invested in the Beams vs former club story. Port v Freo is much more exciting and I'd imagine it'd be of higher quality too. Freo with a lot to make up for after being knocked out by Port on their home turf this year.

The only other game of note is Hawthorn and Geelong, but even then I think that they aren't as evenly matched as they used to be.

The start of the season looks promising yet again for the Weagles. Beat up on the Bulldogs, fancy themselves as flag contenders and then face reality in three games time when they get smashed by a decent team.

Love it, Port at Subi round 1.. Bring it on!!

Please no 6 day break after the game though

I know it should be a good game & all but I was hoping for another team - like literally any other team. That means in 4 games we'll be playing Port 3 times.

I miss having a derby open the season.
As long as we don't draw the return bout in round 23 in adelaide, because it could happen again!
Almost guarantee's Port as one of our double ups.

For mine it's a bit of a disappointing round 1. 2 contending clubs that will be nowhere near their sharpest by round 1 in a reasonably silly time slot leaving minimal rest before round 2. Hopefully this game gets the sell out and big tv audience it deserves.
