They are all going to be spilling their guts trying to avoid being extradited to the US.

Chuck Blazer got in first for his plea. He has colon cancer and supposedly the Feds agreed to go easy on him to allow him to stay out of jail for his treatment provided he spilt every he knew.

Staggering to think about the estimated $260 billion that Qatar are spending on building stuff for it. It would be a huge waste if they were suddenly stripped of it and the tournament went somewhere else. A whole nation of white elephant projects of roads, rail, hotels, cities and stadiums, that never get used for the intended purpose, and probably left half-finished. It would be staggering.
The total cost may of been estimated at $260b, but that would of been over the course of the whole building program and tournament, only a fraction of that would of already been spent.

As for white elephants there certain to be exactly that after the tournament was finished.

Qatar still have to work out how to deal with a number of local laws which they were required to remove for the tournament, which included laws over public indecency, alcohol, drunkenness, homosexuality, unmarried couples in public, women's rights, workers rights and workplace laws governing freedom to leave employment. Nothing has been done so far on any of them.

Would the Australian Bid Committee be nervous if Warner is the first one to start spilling his guts?

Unlikely. All of their campaigning involved grants to official federations and not individual bank accounts although criminals like Warner have a way of getting their hands on the money. The lack of direct, personal bribes is what ultimately cost votes.

How is this not in the HTB? This is the biggest sport story in what... 30 years?

The Soviet Union pulling out of the Olympics shook the world but this is pulling the mask off the face of THE biggest sport on the planet.

Everyone has raised an eyebrow at one point or another, but to have these sorts of questions raised over nearly every major event in World Football for the last two decades is just mind blowing.

It makes the Essendon saga look like chicken feed...

Because who cares about wogball, soccer etc. it's just for pussies.

The FAI have done well to get 7 million out of FIFA there when they had absolutely no case. Open season now for every team eliminated from a FIFA competition where a dodgy ref decision is involved.

So they have a better chance of getting the $500K back by threatening legal action over that bloody Italian diving than proper channels from CONACAF??? (or however it's spelt)

Ah. This would explain all of the f**ks he doesn't give.

Wow, so much more s**t is going to come out now, especially with rich pricks trying to save their own butts.

I kind of expected the revelations about Ireland, I remember thinking it was weird at the time that nothing more came of it.

The idea that anyone expects to challenge a referee decision in court is laughable.

The French didn't complain when Schumacher put Battison in hospital for 3 months and they couldn't even substitute him having already used their 2 allocated subs at the time.

Refereeing decisions are final and cannot be changed no matter how bad they are.

Funnily enough Ireland benefited from a deliberate handball in Euro 2012 qualifying against Armenia and did not offer a replay.

If Ireland got anything out of the whole saga they have done extremely well because they were entitled to absolutely nothing.

Chuck is spilling the beans. Lots of fall out to come

Huge story, amazed it's only 17 pages on bigfooty, biggest scandal in sporting history unfolding, rules being bent to allow France to progress in the WC, Canadian soccer boss saying game has lost its moral compass, Blatter posting on twitter, how long before someone goes missing on holiday trek in amazon jungle, or has a heart attack on ski field, cremated next day etc?
