MVP Freo BF Player of the Year Results & Standings (after Q. Final)

For some reason I thought that would've been the first time APearce had polled this year. Actually coming 16th, has played 7 games lol. Indictment on the lesser lights or indicative of his influence?
Well, he performs better then most people expected from a young key position player in his first games. So he gets probably much easier votes then a 100 gamer since people reward the top players obviously and player that do better then expected.

Yep. Case in point, Fyfe did not earn a vote for his 23 disposals last week. He (rightly) gets marked harshly because we know what he is capable of delivering.

With AP we are pleasantly surprised every time he takes a step on his AFL journey.

Almost forgot to finish these off this week. But here they are, the voting results from our second trip to the MCG for the year. Mundy has backed up his good form last week with a BOG and Barlow also stepped up in the voting. Pav and Hill were very tight after that, with the captain pipping Stephen for 3rd. An injured Fyfe was back in the votes this week, albeit a bit further down than we're used to. Here's how the numbers turned out.

Mundy and Hill continue to poll strongly as has been the form line recently with Hill getting his second BOG in three weeks. Walters splits the in form duo with another good performance as well. Sandi only just missed out on sneaking into the top 3 and it was those four who were the stand out vote getters. Here's how the rest of the numbers fell this week:

Rnd 18 vs GWS

Good to see Hilly climbing the rankings. We play so much better when he's getting plenty of it.

Yeah it is. He had a mid season lean patch - not that he was terrible, just not 'in the game' as much, but he's in top shape now.

One of the things that Ross does is he makes sure his most damaging players (what he calls the Rolls-Royces) are put in positions to impact games in the most productive ways. He did it at the Saints and he's done it with us in all sorts of ways, some obvious (i.e. holding Pav close to goals), others less so. Hill is one who he has made sure can find a way to hurt the opposition.

Good to get a strong victory over a troubling side in the Saints. For the third week in a row, it was Hill and Mundy topping our votes in the absence of Fyfe followed by Sandilands who's all round game drew strong votes too. There wasn't quite the spread among the minor placings that you often get in a solid win which was interesting, otherwise there were no real surprises among the voting. Here is how it all added up:

Rnd 19 vs St. Kilda
Score Name - Votes (Number of People who Voted)

7 Stephen Hill - 186 (42)
6 David Mundy - 138 (42)

Tough pill to swallow for Dockers fans in this game, losing to the cross town rivals when top spot could have been locked away. It wasn't for the lack of effort from some players though, and the top 2 or 3 in the polls certainly stood out. Hill topped all votes for the 3rd week in a row, Walters is quietly maintaining pretty good form as well. Fyfe was back and back among the votes too. A sensational 2nd half in particular drawing votes. There wasn't a great deal to pick from after that and this is how the numbers fell:

Rnd 20 vs West Coast
Score Name - Votes (Number of People who Voted)

7 Stephen Hill - 162 (35)

Voting numbers low as you'd expect with a disappointing game. It was the sort of game where certain players had good moments without being consistent through the whole game and, with no stand-out performers, votes were a bit scattered. However, most people had Sandi somewhere in their votes and he was our BOG. Walters and Johnson rounded out our top 3. The latter a welcomed return to form, even if it was in a losing effort. This is how our voting added up:

Rnd 21 vs Nth. Melbourne
Score Name - Votes (Number of People who Voted)

1 Michael Barlow - 13 (5)

Mundy continued his late season form and topped our votes this week, but only just ahead of D.Pearce who returned to the higher reaches of our voting after being absent from them since the earlier rounds. Neale impressed as well and rounded out our top 3. It's a big spread of votes after that indicating a well rounded performance from everybody on the park.

Rnd 22 vs Melbourne

Obviously a bit of a nothing game in the scheme of things, but it wouldn't have been for a good number out there and, despite the one sided affair, there were some solid performers. This is how those who voted saw it:

Sheridan has polled in 5 of the last 7 games which is a fair effort for someone who hasn't been held in the highest esteem on here. Note that I used past tense, the T-Train movement is definitely gathering steam.

:thumbsu:
He's been a bit of a quiet achiever!

Yeah. Right from the start of this year it looked Sheridan was going to be a bit of project for RTB. He was earmarked for a particular role early on and has, for the most part, stuck with him. I think we'll see the real fruits of this steady rise next year or so where he'll really come into his own.

Sorry they're a bit late. Have been supper busy. But they are finally done.

Walters once again proved he's a big game performer and topped our votes followed by Fyfe who was back into the thick of it and back among the votes. Not dominating as he did earlier in the year, but sill getting it done. Balla rounds out our top three in a well regarded return from injury. Here's how the rest of the numbers came out:

Qual. Final vs Sydney
