Game Day Freo v Blues

Impressive effort Dockers. Well done, especially with Pav going off early.
Not that the commentators acknowledged it.

Best player out early, one man down on the bench in the last half and a come from behind win. If it was any other team it would have been called a tremendous win.

What a relief that was! That last qtr was a pretty intense adrenaline rush.

Leigh Fisher should hang his head in shame for that disgraceful display of one way umpiring. I'm struggling to remember many games where a single umpire favoured one team so comprehensively over another.

And Murphy is a pathetic flopping squib. No wonder Carlton can never get over the line with a 'leader' like him out there.

At least the article on the AFL site mentions this, people are also forgetting that Carlton has played some great footy against the top teams this year and we are carrying a *ton of players either carrying niggles or only recently returned from injury. Heard Belly mention how many guys have been injured in the last month or so and it's a fair list, just need to keep this side together and get some cohesion (or semblance of). Hope they don't sound like excuses and man am I glad I don't need these details to comfort me tonight, losing tonight would have been hard to deal with.

Thank f*ck it wasn't just paranoia. The bolded was blatant enough to me, but I was hoping I wasn't alone in my perception.
Fisher was scum. And Murphy deserved to have his head pile driven into the dirt by Crowls, considering the dirty sh*t he was trying on to squirm his way out of getting flogged. Playing for frees and cheap shotting Crowls' solar plexus. Loser. And he did.[/

Don't worry mate it wasn't just you. The amount of and severity of abuse the umps were copping from the crowd as they were coming off, they actually stopped and waited for security to escort them off the ground.

First game I've got to see this year. Ballas, Mayne, Fyfe and Sandi...hats off.
Pearce and Mundy...shockers.

Best part of tonight's effort was meeting Harry, JMT, Clem, Kenny and all at Fire and Ice...(but Jeezus $13 for a pint is dearer than Broome!). Was a pleasure though chaps

Copped my first ever infraction after almost 6 years of unblemished posting yesterday. Some sensitive princesses about.

Was great meeting you too. We'll be back there for the Hawthorn game.

If it was the Carlton board they would have hunted you down and impaled you, Vlad Tepes style.

Bad luck Blues! First Geelong and now this!
Firstly PHEW! Haven't been that nervous at a game since we played Richmond last year!

Our midfield is a worry.....like Ross said they were walking it out of the middle....They had players on the outside waiting for the spread while we had 3-4 players in the middle at almost arms length. Carltons switching was a great tactic but the amount of uncontested delivery up forward was infuriating....Not much macca and Dawson could do.

Interesting to note that Johnson, Dawson and Macca spent 100% Time on Ground..no wonder they looked spent!

Now.....
Join in the chorus, and sing it one and all.

I apologize...just hoping for North, Collingwood and Bulldogs to win :p

I'd also like to mention how moving the Flight MH-17 tribute was. It was a really good thing to do!

I went along to this game. First Freo (home) game I've been to since the 2011 derby when Ballantyne hit the post after the siren.

1. The pre-game tribute was beautiful. Well done to all involved.

2. It was really bloody cold. Your fans booed a lot at the umpires and went quiet when you were losing. I felt right at home.

3. LOL Carlton. Chooooke. I can't believe Daisy had 24 kicks. Barely noticed any impact from him. Dawson, Waite, Ibbotson, Wood, Casboult and anyone else who had a stab at losing the game in the last few minutes - give yourself an uppercut son!

4. Classic 'good team grinding out a win over s**t team trying their best' game. First quarter was good, 2nd and 3rd were dull, 4th was exciting as the game opened up. You guys were a mile off your best. Fyfe, Barlow and Ballantyne got you over the line in the end and 4 points is 4 points. I'm sure Mick Malthouse took it well.

5. Pavlich going off obviously put a giant hole in your forward line but you really struggled to kick to a target leading towards the ball. Fyfe, Barlow and Mayne all took marks inside 50 at the end I was at (Subi) but all were running back towards goal on the spread. Not sure if this is a regular occurence but looked pretty noticeable to me. The Blues looked much more dangerous with Waite leading towards the ball carrier - though I did laugh when he played on from CHF with no teammates ahead of him and turned it over then 10 minutes later kicked it out on the full from the HF flank with Murphy in space.

This does happen a lot mate especially with Ballantyne. The only forward we tend to hit up on a regular basis is Pavlich.
