OK enough about Sleepy Jackson and other related WA bands.


WTF happened to Interpol? They were a gun post punk NY band that just dropped off the map.

You talking quality or their actual existence? They put out an album, their fifth, last year.

I thought it was a decent album too.

I just hadn't heard any new Interpol songs on the radio lately so I thought they must have called it a day.

Na they are still lurking but I think with a lot of music these days, you only need to improve your setlist with a few songs each album to continue being a musician as a full time gig. Once you have that real good debut and second album, you seem safe enough.

You don't hear much about Custard these days, they were a great 90s band from Brisvegas.





They don't make bands like that anymore, Veil Aussie music.

I owned a copy of Tu Plang, that used to cop a thrashing at parties and the like, great album.

Back when Aussie rock was proper rock unlike that sorry excuse for Gen Y Aussie rock we get these days.

The quintessential Brisvegas band.





I lived with a bunch of Qld boys in London and they worshipped The Go-Betweens, they weren't even from Brissy they were from the Sunshine Coast.

The Friends of Rachel Worth was released when I was living with them and they were all over it, talking about all the local Qld references in the lyrics.

They were quite impressed with all the Church albums I had in my CD collection because Steve Kilbey teamed up with Grant McLennan in Jack Frost.



Two of the greatest songwriters Australia has produced.

Normally it's way off the mark but they've got me bang to rights there, I even own a Faker album, Addicted Romantic.

Great album, one of the few post 2000 albums I bought.
