Baghdad Bandits 16.4 100
Geelong Wolves 12.7 79

Well, it's the same story, just a different week really. We're one week closer to a win, fell just short in the last quarter, and put in a real strong effort during the week. All the cliches are applicable, and we can drown our sorrows in the comfort that we're giving it our all. But for whatever reason, the Sim is being a bitch to us this year, and we need to keep our chins up and put our best foot forward.

The first quarter was a huge test of character, with the Bandits going to the first break with a 31 point lead after we didn't register a major. It would have been easy to go into our shells at this early point of the match, but we didn't.

Kicking seven consecutive goals to yyou, DREAM TEAM BUFF, KangaFan35, Tayl0r, and GETSOMENUTS got us back in the game, with scores level at half time. A huge second quarter should have been the theme for our first win of the season, and it was a terrific effort from the entire team to get us back into it.

We started the third quarter in similar fashion with KangaFan35 kicking his third for the day - we'll be hearing from him tomorrow on his experiences with the Wolves so far - but we slipped behind after the Bandits kicked the next three. We went into three-quarter time 11 points down, which wasn't insurmountable.

The final quarter started in perfect fashion, with KangaFan35 slotting his fourth, and DREAM TEAM BUFF gave us hope, pulling the margin back to 3 points, but that was the closest we got, as two quick goals to the Bandits at the end of the quarter put the game out of our reach.

There weren't many stand outs on the field this week, which perhaps hints at why we weren't able to get over the line. A Bit High led the way with 23 disposals, 7 marks and 2 tackles; GETSOMENUTS marked his return to the side well with 15 disposals, 9 hit outs, 2 tackles, and 2 goals; @Willo_ continued his fine form with 22 disposals, 2 marks, and 2 tackles; finally KangaFan35 gave a stand out display in the forward line with 2 marks, 4 goals from 6 scoring shots, and 6 kicks.

The Wolf of the Week is A Bit High!

Geelong Wolves 10.5 65
Dragons FFC 10.13 73

Same story different week. Whenever a game gets close late I just know the SIM is going to do something to * us over, and sure enough it did it yet again this week. This is becoming a mission of showing the SIM we won't give in and that we'll stay strong in the face of adversity. Every loss is just giving us that extra bit of satisfaction and enjoyment when the win finally comes!

The first quarter started off positively enough, with DREAM TEAM BUFF and Bucketss slotting our first to of the match to see us level with the Dragons at the first break. It was great to see Bucketss and GETSOMENUTS amongst it early on.

In the second quarter we piled on the pressure, with consecutive goals to grimlock playing his first game for the season, Bucketss with his second, and first year emerging talent KangaFan35 kicking our third in a row to see us lead by 7 points at the main break.

We started the third strongly with former captain A Bit High kicking the first, before the Dragons took control of the quarter, a solitary goal to Grimlock our only other major contribution for the quarter. It means that the Dragons led by two goals straight at the final change.

While Tayl0r, Hawthorn United, and KangaFan35 started us off well, to put us up by 7 points at the 18 minute mark, the SIM is like a lady who just knows she's out of your league. Taunting us with that prospect of victory, drawing us in closer, and closer, just to snuff out our chances with a merciless laugh, goals to Gee Dub and The Filth Wizard, amongst three consecutive behinds for the Dragons gave us no hope of clawing across the line.

The SIM also thought it appropriate to make plenty of substitutions for the side, so numbers were down across the board. The clear standout though was Tayl0r with 27 disposals - 17 kicks, 10 handballs and 2 tackles, she also slotted a major; Akkaps also tried hard with 21 disposals, 3 marks, and 3 tackles; Bucketss was a surprising contributor with 16 disposals, 6 marks and 2 goals; while Yyou was the other standout with 12 disposals, 12 marks, but only 1 behind to show for it.

The clear Wolf of the Week this week was Tayl0r! Congratulations. :)

I genuinely feel for you lot. The wins will come, just stick it out. :thumbsu:

Hard to take at the minute. This playing list deserves a lot better. :(
