I hope Marc Murphy is watching the footy to see how a real Skipper in Nathan Jones goes about his footy.

Unfair IMHO

Wasn't even voted in by his peers.

Given to him by Mick, another poor decision by him.

No Carlton fan would of said he was a natural captain.

If any team needed to run with a GT rotational policy to develop leaders, it was the Blues.

tissue?

2 ways a Captain can inspire...

Go in hard like Jones or play out of his skin like Ablett or Judd.

Murphy does neither.

What I've been wondering, can any coach afford to have a gap year?

Mick had one, Rocket stepped outside of senior coaching for a bit.

I'm actually agreeing, he isn't captaincy material.

Just pointing out its more another error of judgment by Malthouse, to add to his long list of errors.

tell you what, he isn't.

Doesn't mean he can't play to his ability.

Look at Lenny, Roo and a few others... regardless of ladder position or coach, they played at 100% week in week out.

Coach can only do so much. Jones is in just as poor a team but look at him go.

Half way through the 3rd quarter:

Hogan 14 possessions 6 marks 3 goals
Boyd 1 handball no marks no goals gets subbed off

5 years ago I was making cuppa's and biscuits for Matt Jones as he wired up our house.

Now he's a mature age AFL player.

Great to see him playing well for the Dees
