The idiots at Channel 7 just showed footage of the Nurburgring accident. Different footage to the one posted in this thread. This one actually showed people getting hit by the car. One man was flung about 5 metres, few more looked to be crushed by the car as it flipped through the crowd.

This is an odd incident.Aussie James Davison has crashed into a safety truck at the end of the USCS race at Belle Isle in Detroit [was run before the Indycar race].
Should the truck even have been out there so soon if cars are still crossing the finish line in the background ?
A few other cars joined JD in the wall there.

It doesn't get away unscrutinised, people call for its axing every year. Riders keep fronting up to the event knowing the risk, because they want to.

It's road racing on roadbikes, no way you're going to get it as safe as a circuit. Props to those guys, the idea of getting air at 250kph plus on a roadbike scares hell out of me.
