Lonely: Uncle_Leo after being dismissed from the Wolves on the eve of S19
The Sweet FA is full of all sort of characters and personas. Some players in the competition are the strong, almost silent types who are swift and brutal in their banter. Others take the approach of death by 1,000 cuts; posters who will persistently nag away with dribble until you just can't take it any more. Most of the rest of the competition fall somewhere in between this spectrum of silly and serious. Qooty football clubs will try and get a balance on their list which incorporates all of these various types which can instill a club culture and make a club a fun place to spend a Sunday afternoon while you're constantly hitting F5 in the match threads.

But, as with all places, there are always a few exceptions who do not fit into the description of the above. Uncle_Leo is a freakishly good Sweet FA player. His record speaks for itself; He's a EKA medal winner, was best on in a losing grand final and is a proven performer in big games, often kicking big bags coming out of Full Forward. But for all his worth on the Qooty field, it is completely outweighed by his persona off the field. His big ego has already meant he has burnt bridges with teams in the past and when matched with his volatile nature it has left teams reluctant to take him on and risk jeopardizing the culture the club has worked so hard to create.

Nakia is a different beast altogether. A former club captain, he is a silky midfielder who can destroy teams in a matter of moments. His strong polling at Mobb Medal nights and multiple All-SFA nominations attest to this. But he is at the crossroads right now and for him it's not a case of not being able to find a club that wants him - he just doesn't want to be a part of a club environment. His ego is too big for it to be contained at just one club.

The Sweet FA needs a way to keep this types of posters in the league, otherwise they will be lost to the same land of obscurity that we have seen the likes of Jobe3Votes end up in. The solution is to allow clubs to hand out one game contracts. The rules would be simple. The player who elects to be a contract player can only play for any club once in a season, and can only be during home and away matches. This means they could only play a maximum of 12 games a season. Because they are only around the club for a week means no negative club reactions could take place, and if they do, are only short term. It allows the maligned player to prove to the Sweet FA captains and clubs that they are worthy of being a part of a team list without any inherent risks of giving them a chance and if the poster doesn't want to be a part of that, allows them to feed their ego even more when they end up being the difference between a win or a loss. This would be a huge banter point throughout the league.

Come on Sweet FA, it's time to get with the times and allow 1 game contracts to become a norm in this league.

1 game contracts sound ridiculous...if you had said 5 then I might understand, but one?

This is a discussion that has been continuously shut down by the admin.

More player freedom?

Okey responds.
