i like the last bit here.... these specialists coming in certainly add value. But the full time positions are manned by untried explayers. I understand quality assistant coaches are hard to come by but with experience lacking on the field we need it in the staff otherwise these kids might not reach their potential

I somewhat agree with you but when I look at Cornes and Power I see guys who have been coached by the likes of Matthews and Williams as well as high quality line coaches and they bring with them everything they have learned from that experience and that includes the experience at the tail end of there career of mentoring young player at the power and the lions as well as the player/coach role they had with us before they went full time, as for Brogan I believe he was pretty much the powers ruck coach before he joined us.

But that said in an ideal world we would have Cornes and Power as our development coaches and have more experienced guys as our assistant coaches but from everything I see and hear I have a lot of faith in the work being done by our current assistants I just hope that faith isn't misplaced.

I think when assessing our coaches we look at our development and performance win/loss.

If you look at both we have improved markedly. There wasn't a game through the year where I felt, gee we look deficient here or why aren't we doing this. Even from a team selection point of view I've been really happy with the teams that have been selected and the kids seem genuinely ready when they get their chance.

One thing I am curious about next year is where we see Will Hoskin-Elliott. From memory he could do a very impressive beep test and is also our most explosive runner and best mark. Will be interesting if they try him more on ball as he has some size which our other mids lack. If we don't get a Petracca perhaps WHE can take that role??

No no no and no.
If youve ever get the chance to hear this bloke speak, hes about as sharp as a $2.00 prostitute.
Just his replies on the asada/vitamins debate was enough to signal a no no.
May have been a good player and might be a good bloke, but for the life of me,this bloke cant speak and string 3 words together.
Will add nothing to the staff at our club.
Give me somebody who can communicate and i will be happy.

But he spoke with passion. Unloaded on a former team-mate in Reimers who has been invisible ever since Barrett broke the story. Had we been conceived 10 years ago, he'd have been the first guy chose/poached/drafted

The GIANTS have announced the appointment of David Joyce as High Performance Manager. Joyce joins the club from Western Force where he has been Head of Athletic Performance since 2012. He has extensive experience in the sports industry having worked for Blackburn Rovers, Galatasaray and Super League club Hull FC. Allan said John Quinn, who has been on sick leave since the start of 2014, is expected to return to the club in a new role next year. "John is a highly respected member of staff and we look forward to his return to the club after a period of absence through illness," Allan said. - See more at: http://www.gwsgiants.com.au/news/2014-11-17/kats-new-role#sthash.j3IFmbwV.dpuf

Here are the coaching roles for '15, and looking at who we have it feels like we are at least one development coach short and it seems that Buchanan has moved on from being a development coach and is now the forwards coach:

Leon Cameron - Head Coach

Alan McConnell - Senior Assistant Coach

Luke Power - Midfield Coach

Dean Brogan - Ruck/Stoppages Coach

Chad Cornes - Backline Coach

Mark McVeigh - Defensive Coach

Amon Buchanan - Forward Coach

Brett Hand - Head of Development/NEAFL Coach

Sam Reid - Development Coach

Jason Saddington - PM CAPITAL GIANTS Academy Coach

Geez. I can remember playing primary school footy against Mark Williams. Me for Paringa Park, him for St. Leonards. Everyone knew him already coz he was the son of Fos Williams, the coach of Port. I guess we're both at the age now to be careful of our health.
