Just watched Fremantle take the points against the Tigs.

The final goal from Hayden Ballantyne displayed the gap in work rates and want between players who care and those who don't.

Gary Lyon got stuck into Deledio for not caring last week.

Watching Ballantyne lay the tackle, recover and push hard forward to be on the end of an entry kick showed fantastic work rate, Deledio got tackle, took his time getting back to his feet and then trotted back toward his defensive goal.

He didn't work to cut off the incoming pass, and Ballantyne met the ball on the lead and clipped Deledio on the way through took his shot and goaled.

What's happened to this bloke?

Maybe he has, but he was knocking himself out in a team that was (is?) underacheiving and not seeing a lot of light at the end of the tunnel. He's also just been out injured, so maybe is not as fit as he'd like or protecting the injury a bit. I can't blame him for not leading with his chin, if he thinks the blokes next to him wouldn't do it for him.

He's always been pretty overrated. Doesn't impact games enough.

Can't remember any games where his efforts have swung the game either way. I'm sure they are there, but nothing of note has come to mind.

Why bother using all your talents when if you win the ball you kick it to Tyrone Vickery or if the opposition gets it it's going to Troy Chaplin and so it doesn't matter how much pressure you put on the ball carrier, they are going to kick a goal anyway

you clearly didn't watch the game, vickery didn't play and thank goodness.

Hasn't Ablett proved that sort of logic is crap?

Gold Coast is a good side or atleast building towards being a good side. Richmond are forever average at best and deplorable at worst.

Also Ablett is like a complete different entity to Deledio. Deledio could be one of the best in the competition but Ablett will always be the best while he's in full form.

Probs trying to get out of there. More chance if he plays s**t footy

How he and others of similar stature at Tigerland got a game this week is beyond me. Imo any coach worth their pay would've dropped Deledio after his efforts in recent weeks. Would've sent a message to the playing group too.

Hasn't Ablett proved that sort of logic is crap?

Ablett is the kind of player who will be good in any side. The logic you seem to be trying to employ goes like this: 'because the best player in the comp was good in a poor side, there is no such thing as a player who will be underwhelming in a poor side but highly effective in a good side.' It just doesn't follow.

Lids' attitude seems to be that since the team is s**t anyway, there is no point trying. Put him in a good side, maybe he'd be more effective due to actually giving a s**t.

Richmond are s**t and the fact they have Vickery and Petterd getting games at one end is one scary thought, but the fact their 'leaders' are Delidio and the bland, soft Cotchin is even more of an indictment. There's a reason the Tiges are no good and adulating and refusing to be hard on average players like this is one of them.
