Rumour Hird will not be coaching at Essendon in 2014

It would be a sensible decision for Essendon to move forward and leave Hird in the past

That said it would be pretty funny if they keep him. the club would be a ruin with sponsorships walking, players defecting and supporters getting super frustrated.......am I talking about PAFC 2009-2012?

It's sad to see the guts being ripped out of this club, and it's only going to go downhill from here.

Hird sacked, lengthy player suspensions on the horizon, Goodwin gone, Bomber, Bassett, Ryder and a slew of sponsors & members looking increasingly likely to follow him off the sinking ship.

To date, all Essendon have really had to deal with is a bit of negative press and the shame that goes with it on the back of these court cases against ASADA. Unfortunately for Essendon supporters, all that seems to have achieved is to delay the inevitable. This is a very ugly situation that is only going to get worse as the very real repercussions of the actions of the club will begin to unfold over the coming months. How will they cover the suspended players? Who will they bring in to replace the 4 coaches who have either already left or it seems will inevitably be walking out the door? Is there anyone brave/stupid enough to pick up the reins? How will they cover the financial ramifications if as you'd expect, they lose members & sponsors through this saga?

Here's the biggest and only question – they cheated and continue to lie, so who cares?

it is a shame it has come to this. sure mistakes and bad decisions happen, but to deny responsibility and frustrating processes to investigate are unforgivable.

Don't get me wrong, absolutely no sympathy for the club and as much as I want to see them get whacked, you can't help but feel sorry for the supporters. The refusal of the Essendon administration to accept any responsibility for what happened has turned what would have been 1 disrupted season into a train wreck that has the potential to irreparably cripple the club. And while the people responsible for the mess will pack up their bags and walk out the door, the supporters (who have been betrayed from start to finish by their own club) will be left to pick up the pieces.
