2015 LFFL Draft Update

In addition to Josh Kennedy, Dayne Beams, Ollie Wines and Marc Murphy, the Holiday Armadillos would like to welcome their newest players picked up in the recent draft. Please welcome Steve Johnson, Stefan Martin, Pearce Hanley, Isaac Smith, Nick Malceski and Jake Carlisle to the Armadillo clan.

Steve Johnson was the Armadillos first ever pick for the club going at pick 13. The Armadillos then added some Brisbane Lions flavour with their next two picks taking Stefan Martin at pick 17 to fill up the ruck stocks and Pearce Hanley at pick 41. Isaac Smith, Nick Malceski and Jake Carlisle are the newest members of the Holdiay Armadillos being picked up at pick 44, 69 and 72 respectively.

Stay tuned as the Holiday Armadillos still have Picks 97, 100, 125, 128, 154, 158, 183, 186, 211 and 214 to round out their 2015 squad.

Holiday Armadillos get Debut LFFL Season off to a shaky start

Being new to the LFFL, it would be fair to say that coach, Smartys Power is still learning the ropes. Power was offered a coaching position at the end of last season, in which he accepted. If you were a regular around this board, you would have noticed that Power was around for the draft but went missing up to the lead up to the Skooks Cup. An extra competition that takes place in the league, that Smartys Power had obviously not learned correctly.

Because of the lack of awareness and understanding, Power failed to submit a team for their very first match in Round 1 of the Skooks Cup. Resulting in a default victory to the City Oval Plovers. Smartys Power was made aware of his failure to submit a team when the Round 2 thread was put up. Power wouldn't make this mistake again and eventually did submit a side for their Skooks Cup clash against Mozzie Bites. Unfortunately the Armadillos went down to a strong Bites team.

If you thought Smartys Power learnt his lesson after Round 1, think again. In the 3rd round of the Skooks Cup, he yet again failed to submit a team. The Holiday Armadillos would not have been able to make the Semi Finals but a bit of pride was on the line. Unfortunately the coach couldn't step up to the plate and handed the Draconian Knights the easiest of wins.

That brings and end to the Holiday Armadillos Skooks Cup campaign after only officially playing 1 match and they leave with coach, Smartys Power with a whole heap of soul searching to do.

Karnezis_13 has been quoted suggesting this was the worst coaching role performed by a LFFL manager of all time.
