Multiplat Homefront: The Revolution

Homefront: The Revolution has been revealed by developer Crytek UK for a 2015 launch on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Mac and Linux. We’ve got all the plot details, a trailer, gameplay information and screens.

Homefront: The Revolution takes place in Philadelphia, four years after North Korea claimed America. The city has become a ghetto that is regularly patrolled by soldiers and automated drones, and where civilians live in fear under the oppression of a police state.

Beyond the city lies the ‘badlands,’ a red zone where the seeds of revolution are forming thanks to a guerrilla band of rebels working to overthrow the dictatorship and achieve independence once more. The open world is said to react to your actions as you trigger the new revolution, but as always the Koreans have advanced weaponry and technology. Players will also engage enemy forces in un-scripted gun battles using homebrew weapons.

I don't really have much faith in Crytek making decent games anymore, their FPS mechanics have been fairly mediocre in the Crysis games. But the concept is at least pretty cool and should result in SOME fun just by virtue of it being open world and co-op, so it'll be interesting to see what comes of this.

Thought the first was alright, they didn't really hit me emotionally like they said they would and there was a lot of things to improve on. The MP had some great ideas but was let down by some very shitfull hit detection and monster lag.

The first homefront was bad and I'm glad I only paid around $10 for it otherwise I'd be upset. Interested in this one for the co-op. Open world makes me very curious how it'll work.

So this is by the guys who brought us Timesplitters (Yay!) and Haze (Nay!).

All I want is Timesplitters 2 with online multiplayer. I'd never need another shooter again.

Deep Silver acquires the Homefront IP from Crytek and Crytek UK is now becoming Dambuster Studios. Which will be an internal Deep Silver developer.

Can't wait for this. I honestly didn't mind number 1, had its problems but ended up being quite enjoyable. Dont want to get my hopes up too much for this though
