This is the way I have it panning out.

Hope it does because I want to see these games: Hawthorn/Geelong (obviously will), Freo/Port, Hawthorn/Fremantle, Sydney/Hawthorn.

If the QF results are reversed though (Fremantle & Geelong win), its Fremantle's premiership.

No One giving Richmond a chance, considering Port haven't beaten Richmond since 2011.

We hadn't beaten Geelong since 2007.
We hadn't beaten Hawthorn since 2010.
We hadn't beaten Freo since 2009.
We hadn't beaten the Western Bulldogs (of all teams) since 2006.

What's your point?

Doesn't really matter. End result is still Hawthorn winning.

2 teams from 1-4 will lose, and 2 team 5-8 will win. The media will get all hyped about the chances of the winning teams from 5-8 beating the losing teams from 1-4, most even tipping them. They won't win of course, and the PFs will be played between the top 4 teams after the minor round. How do I know? It happens nearly every year.

This was pretty much what I was going to post. Prelims will be played out by the top 4.

If the Prelims are all Top 4 again, that would mean 28 out of 30 Semis going the same way (with those 2 times barley happening), clearly showing that 5th-8th being there is just a waste of time under the current finals system.

Have the QF losers play off and EF winners play off in Week 2, guaranteed roughie in the Prelims every year... finish 4th - double chance but face the prospect of no home final, or finish 5th - propsect of two home finals but cut throat all the way

Current system is good on paper, but in practice its becoming too stale and predictable.

Every team that has won in a QF has gone on to make the GF since 2007. Geelong are no chance at beating the Hawks so that rules them out. Fremantle and Sydney play in the wet, so I'm tempted to say Fremantle but they won't win.

Hawks v Sydney. I really hate repeat grand finals. 2012 is still too fresh.

'No chance at all'? 0%? Zilch?

Ridiculous call

That's what I said, isn't it? Were you watching when the Hawks decided to play in your last encounter? It's the same thing Freo did to Port. They knew when and how to turn it on because they're a class above. The class below come out with the giddiness of a labrador thinking 'how good is this we can compete'.

Not much love for freo. We can do the job on the swans. Not easy but it can be done

The forecast is rain and the Swans supporters haven't been too fond of playing in the rain this season, I think it will also mitigate the advantage they have with their tall forward acquisitions, as long as Freo's pressure is manic I think they are a very good chance of winning.
