How dominant will GWS or GC be?

You don't think there on big money? Your kidding yourself if you think they are not. Its no secret Scully, Ward and Davis were lured by the big dollars
What i think is irrelivent to the discussion. I actually think they are being paid overs. But thats needed to get players to come up north. Even so there are no facts to what is being said.

I thought everyone knew that Ward, Davis, Palmer and Scully were all on heavily front loaded contracts as the rest of the team were on 1st year base wage. I remember hearing that Scully had almost 2mil paid in year 1 and a mil+ in year 2 he would be on maybe 500 pay these days. Same can be said for the others. It's a that thing called list management ya know

So what if it's a cash grab? Clubs do what they need to do to get the players they need, and players rarely turn down big money. You couldn't say Scully, Ward and Davis have given any less than 100% for the Giants, and they didn't dictate the money offered to them, so why make a big deal out of it?

Indeed.

And yet plenty still bash the Dogs for going for Boyd. The concept of front/backending and the other $9/10 million in the cap are totally lost on some people.

I was just in Sydney and went for a drive around Breakfast Point and its a lovely area. Its hardly the Boondocks.
You could easily live somewhere like Abbotsford or Drummoyne and catch the ferry around there.
Anywhere on the harbour or upriver a bit is beautiful near the water.
It would be a fantastic lifestyle to be a young AFL player living in Sydney. So much to do, so much to see.

You are actually highlighting one of the nicest, most pricey part of Sydney.
What about going down Parramatta Road and reviewing that area?

Breakfast Point would be far too expensive for AFL footballers.

Mind you, if they increased their pay by 10%, things would be different.
;)

My bad. I don't really follow the Giants, I thought they were still living there!
Still plenty of nice areas you could live on 200k or whatever their base rate is!
Coniglio lives in Randwick apparently, nothing wrong with that neck of the woods, Coogee, Closely etc just up the road, Newtown to far away.
I guess the point is that Sydney would be such a great place to live in your 20's with plenty of money in your pocket.

Most of the guys started out living in Breakfast Point, they have since moved to horrible places like Randwick, Bondi, Balmain, Abbotsford etc..
