Or will he attempt top sue the pants of anyone and everyone his lawyers suggest. Can you imagine the list:

AFL: Vlad, Gill, Dillion, Clothier and probably a few more.

Essendon: the club, the board, the Doc.

Media: Caro, Patrick and anyone who has questioned his credibility

Other: Big Footy and other net based forums.

It truly will be Albert v the World with Tanya writing the script. We may even see a board challenge come out of this.

Plenty of popcorn still to be eaten.

Looks like everyone except Hird read through Justice Middleton's verdict thoroughly, sought new advice on and have decided that they need to accept it move on, try and do a deal with ASADA and be finished with the whole saga in teh same manner as Cronulla and the NRL now have.

I'm just waiting for the fallout from Hird's statement once he is sacked and even the staunchest Essendon fans who for some insane reason are still standing by Hird, realise they either have to follow the man or the club.

The Essendon board is currently running with the theory that Hird is so benevolent that he is appealing the case in an elaborate ruse to give the club a reason to sack him. In doing so, Hird will take a bullet while saving the the club since, with him out of the door, the ASADA stuff will miraculously fade into history. Yes, they really are that batshit crazy.

Essendon and Hird received a 37 page document from their legal teams which suggested J Middleton may have made an error in law and as such they had a strong case to mount an appeal. The players are at the stage that based upon the Cronulla situation they just want it over and the club has fallen into line with their wishes. Hird is now ostracised, he must press on regardless. No winners here now.

Funny how society appears to be more interested in an error or law than we are an error in common decency.

They received the document from their legal teams, but with the mounting costs and basic arse kicking that was the Middleton judgement, the Essendon board sought other advice from a different legal firm, this advice was not to appeal as they had little chance of winning and every chance of incurring another million dollar legal bill. EFC have obviously weighed up the two differing opinions and decided that judging on the result of the first court action it is better to just move on and deal with ASADA so no further pain is inflicted as it is clear that the players have had a gut full, with Ryder just the tip of the iceberg. I'd be willing to bet that a few others would of been waiting to see if Essendon appealled before deciding if they want to be traded as they to have reached breaking point.

If a law firm advised Essendon to sue (which has cost millions) and then had the judge comprehensively rule that this advice was wrong, its unlikely that any further advice given would be that they were wrong in the first place :p

hint albert

dont get ian hanke or lukin or someone from burson marsteller to script your words for release. the soundbite and talking point sound just like that, PR scripted BS.

Hird has claimed that he continues to act in the best interests of the players, who...............
"may be stained forever by the innuendo, misconceptions and falsities that resulted from an investigation that we believe was conducted unlawfully."
