Indonesian military plane crashed in Medan

So early news, but an Indonesian Hercules has crashed into a populated area in Medan, Indonesia, shortly after takeoff. Reports so far that the pilot had asked to return to the airport due to an issue. Nothing else yet as it's still early news.

The Indonesian airforce is extremely old, mostly 2nd handers from other countries, so it's sadly not surprising. It's extremely sad that extra lives will be lost due to crashing into buildings

Twas a B model, in active service for 51 or so years.

Juliar 'gifted' the TNI with 4 or 5 of our retired H models after they were retired in 2012, and the mob I work for are de-modding the last few and sending them over there. They were in service for the RAAF since the 80s I believe.
