Hi everyone,

We've got an official announcement about this new initiative coming up later on today, but we thought it was important to give you and the guys on Nick's the first look at it.

The club has launched a new website, forever.collingwoodfc.com.au, which celebrates our history - the players and the matches and the key events and untold stories.

As well as the staples, it also features the records of each club award (previously much of this information had never been collated), the history of Victoria Park, an interactive timeline dating back to 1892 and stories about the people and events behind the club.

This is project is unprecedented in Australia and is one of, if not the, biggest sporting club online museums in the world.

To view the site, head to http://forever.collingwoodfc.com.au/

It will be officially launched later on today, but we'd love you to check it out and tell us what you think. The site will continue to evolve as time goes by, so if you have any further information on a past player or story, be sure to let us know (forever@collingwoodfc.com.au is our email address).

When the website states 'A total of 16 Premierships', are we claiming moral victory because the ball was out in the 1979 GF vs Carlton?

Nice spot! We've amended it to make it clear the tally reflects the VFA and the VFL (the site's looking to incorporate the history and people of the 1892-1896 era as best we can).

is this now acknowledging fitzpatricks wish to have all VFA premierships added to clubs premiership tallies, despite eddies initial outrage ?

nice site.

Bang! Thanks Rusty, it's been amended, thanks for letting us know.

vjknight, re. the VFA/VFL, it's all separate from what was in the papers a few months. It's strictly CFC history
no worries lukey, is there a part where it just shows old photos, or famous pies photos, my grandpa cant read, as he's half blind, and wants to look at pictures for his memory.

It's a good idea, Rusty, and one we've got in mind. There are a heap of old photos scattered from down the years that we'll look to run in time (some of the things that. At the moment, I'd recommend scanning through a few of these stories - each has a different photo attributed to it, some of which none of us had seen before, or had been long forgotten. The award photos are arguably the best - there are some of Gavin Brown and a young Heath Shaw, Tony Shaw receiving an old award and Jarrod Molloy receiving the Millane Award from his mother in 2001. We'll keep working on it.

Why did you tarnish this great site by putting this w***er on it?

This is a seriously good initiative by the club. As someone with a history degree (from the dim and distant past), a site like this is my idea of heaven. Please pass on congratulations to the club.

Just had a quick look at it.It seems like you could easily spend hours there looking up stuff from the past.A great initiative from the club.Well done Luke and to the club for putting this together.
