Peter Hudson, Darryl Baldock, Malcolm Blight, Alex Jesalenko, Nathan Buckley, Nicky Winmar just to name a few

Even TAC cup kids often played VFL before playing
Bartel, Johnson, Chapman, Ablett all played in a state league premiership in 02

Mitchell is one of the best players initially overlooked in the drafting system and then picked up subsequently.

Stephen Milne, Barlow, Gibson and a few others have also done so
