There's been 4 walks in the past 4 years.
Yer that be about right, Lamb, Tippett, Membrey and Tutt IIRC were the 4?

With the expansion clubs coming in, longer trading periods, introduction of the delisted free agency window and what we have seen with players like Nick Stevens and Jade Rawlings in the past, teams will bend over now to get something rather than nothing these days, whether it's a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Membrey was a DFA. Lamb, Tippett, Tutt and Dawson.

He's a ready made key back or forward he's at least worth a top 10 pick.

Yes he is , but he also has a lengthy ban hanging over his head .
All you have to do is find a Melbourne based club that is willing to gamble their first round pick and that Carlisle is willing to go too .
Of course , he can just come to terms with Carlton and walk via the PSD ... Simple

100% going to Carlton in the PSD, no trades will be discussed and anyone with any ability will also walk to Carlton to play for free.

The thing is , Carlton get a free hit .
Carlton have nothing to lose , where all other Melbourne based clubs have their first rounder to gamble ...

Gold Coast and Brisbane have a pick before Carlton who says they wont have a free hit as well? any ways you wont get him and certainly not via the psd.

Edit - Would like to know where this confidence of getting him via the psd comes from.

There is every chance essendon could re draft him before the Blues pick.

More chance of at staying at Essendon than going to Carlton.
It's like Dangerfield - the longer they don't sign the more likely to leave. This rubbish about Wada stopping clubs trying to poach him is just that - rubbish. Didn't stop Port with Ryder and won't stop any other club with any ess players.

Port traded for Ryder , comfortable in the knowledge that the matter was in the hands of the "AFL" tribunal ... ;)
Now that WADA have taken the case to CAS , it's a WHOLE different story !!
Footscray don't want to gamble , let's see if any other Melbourne based clubs will ??
Of course , there's one Melbourne based club that won't have too ... :D

Maybe because 17 clubs allowed Tippet to slip through to the premiers in 2012.

Absolutely zero clubs "allowed" Tippett to slide. The AFL informed any club that expressed interest, including both GWS and Brisbane, that they could not fit Tippett's specified contract terms into their salary cap. As such all clubs except Sydney were unable to select Tippett in the PSD.

All clubs have the ability to renegotiate contracts with players at anytime to make cap space. They chose not to.

Can I assure you that the Dogs' lack of interest in Carlisle has nothing to do with WADA.

100% he is going to Carlton via the PSD. Essendon can just move on to the other players wanting to leave.

Really?
So Carlton are willing to meet his price?
Unless things have changed in the last 24hrs I still maintain he isnt going anywhere. Had ironed out a few issues and was just trying to squeeze a little bit more coin out of the club. I think what we are offering is overs though and id be amazed if any other club would go near that.
