Jake has never been under rated. He was one of the highest rated kids in that draft. Prior to doing his knee he was going to be a top 5 pick. Clubs do so much due diligence its amazing. Jake would have had both his knees scanned, the bad one and the good, and the recuiters would have taken them to specialists to get reports on what his knees are like.Good on you Adelaide Crows for drafting probably the most underrated player in the draft. He was a steel at 14.
When you do a knee so young there is a risk that you have dodgy knees, and no club wants to end up with another Daniel Menzel.
So there may have been some concern shown by the medical reports on his knees, and that was to blame for him slipping. Our medical reports may have said there was nothing to worry about, who knows.
But bottom line, the kid was always considered a gun and if he hadnt of done his knee we would not have him today. Kinda worked for us really.
