Thanks to the play-by-play descriptions from ESPN.com, and a manual review of all of Hayne’s carries via film, it was confirmed. In 17 carries as a running back (we are excluding receptions and punt returns, though none of those were for negative yards either), Hayne was never tackled for negative yardage in the 2015 regular season.

The closest to negative yardage Hayne had was on three carries where he got back to the line of scrimmage for no gain.

While Hayne continues to have a lot to learn in the running back position, his ability to consistently beat the first man and fight a tackle for yardage after contact seems to make him a tough player to bring down and validate his use on power running plays.

So your strategy to deal with hayne who is only able to run out of the shotgun is to rush him, despite his terrible yardage stats, opening yourself up to burning burned on a play action or a screen or even just a pass in the middle of the field all for a bloke that averages 3.1 yards per carry and whooping career high of 11 rushing yards.

at this rate Hayne is on track to be the second worst Running Back in the history of the NFL, i'm not even exaggerating.
