Just slightly unrealistic (and apologies if it's been suggested) but let's just rebuild the coaching staff from the ground up using former true bloods:
- Horse can stay as a mentor Roos-style to Brett Kirk, who will slide into the senior job in 2017.
- Playfair out, Micky O in as forwards coach.
- Was going to say Nick Davis as goal kicking coach but remembered he struggled with the bloods culture (beautiful kick at goal though).
- Dew out, Stewie Max in as midfield coach.
- Paul Williams on board as strategy coach.
- Whoever is currently defensive coach (Blakey maybe?) out (though he's been ok), Craig Bolton in.
- Darren Jolly in as ruck coach.
- Bustling Baz in to mentor Tippo in how to use your body effectively.
- Paul Bevan in to coach the bench in how to slice the oranges.
- We'll find a job for a few of the other good ones.
- The old dude who sings the song with the players can stay, he's been solid all year.
keeping it all in house. Micky O as forwards coach has merit.

Boy sure was good at leading into space, and working with a second KF - blocking for each other, dummy leads, simultaneous leads to different spots.

If anything we are too insular, love the names listed but we need outside ideas

I love that we can talk about this but.... THE SAD TRUTH is nothing will change

Not true

Buddy will come in and carry us over the line at least against the crap to average sides

Why would we want that though? Should back our defenders, forwards and our midfielders two way running I would've thought

Where has that gotten Swans the past two weeks? I would back Swans forwards any day of the week if the midfielders could hit them up with a decent pass rather than bombing it in constantly. Perhaps all this two way running associated with midfielders creating loose men back is effecting kicking accuracy. That and having nobody to kick to in the forward line.

In 2012 there was a well publicised meeting with the playing group. A "leading teams" pushed chat were players had a chance to vent their frustrations at the way the group was playing as a whole and individually.

By all reports it was brutally honest and one example is that mitch morton (whilst in strong form in neafl) was told by the players they did not want him in the senior team because they had no trust in him to apply himself defensively or do whatever it takes for the greater team success. Morton has since said it was the hardest thing he has ever had to hear in his life, but it pushed him to turn himself around and he ended up being a crucial player in the 2012 flag triumph.

I honestly believe we need another one of these meetings. Players can put it all out there for each other and come out of it a more solid group. Imo it needs to be lead by goodes. The great man is arguably the greatest ever swan and his time is coming to an end. He can inspire the group to take make the most of the opportunitites that are availible for this talented list.

The season is far from over, but it will quickly be a wasted season if we do not turn it around quickly. It needs to be player driven and the coaching staff should be included.

The past few weeks have been an embarrassment for the greatest club in the world. The players need to remember what it means to wear the red and white jumper. Guys like kirk, kelly, goodes, micky o would happily bleed for the swans, we need that back

We have the most damaging and influential forward of the past decade who can turn a game in a couple of minutes, a dual brownlow medalist that is an all time great of the game, a man monster in kurt tippett, talented youngsters such mitchell, hanners, parker, heeney and jones who should cherish every game they run out with someone like goodes. We can and will turn things around, the sydney swans are too proud to let performances like the past fortnight be used as our measuring stick.

In my view the problem is not the game plan but the players lack of ability to execute the most simple skills. Reid standing in front of goals and missing 3 times running had us on the ropes. Goodes constantly leading to space only to have some eejit kick to the opposition, float the ball or kick sideways. Even Macca was butchering the ball on the weekend. No pressure, just butchering it to join a long line of butchers. BJ only led at the ball carrier because Goodes demanded that he do it. Why wasn't that automatic ? Shaw was kicking low angry passes that hit players quickly and he played on at every opportunity, result a great game. Hanners, Lloyd and others would stop, prop and float a gentle hanger

Well how hard would it be to hit a target when you look up and see a 3 on 1 contest... Shooting themselves in the foot

Nick Davis and Mickey-O as forward coaches would be great. Would love to see if we could poach Kirk from Freo.

You could have Plugger & Bob Pratt as forward coaches and it would not make one iota of difference to our calamitous forward set up. The supply, being the ball movement to the said forwards is handicapped by poor skill execution, indecision coupled with a lack of footy smarts, instruction from the coaches on the game plan which incorporates a forward structure that mostly sees said forwards running around in the midfield or backward of it guarding space. In other words you can have as much of the ball as you like in general possession around the ground but if you don't have a bullseye to aim at ahead of you will not score and you will not win games. Who would of thought with Franklin, Tippett and Reid at our disposal and we are lucky to kick totals greater than Under 11 sides do on any give Sunday in the park. Lucky Buddy doesn't have the short fuse of Hall or Lockett as he would of killed someone out of sheer frustration by now. Having said that there is still time with a few weeks to go and no end in site to this out dated game plan with Longmire and his arrogance or ignorance unwilling to change things.

The only game plan is to stop the opposition scoring and create as many stoppages as possible.

Maybe, but didn't Kieren Jack after the Hawthorn game say that they had one of these players-only meetings and established that they were "disgusted" with their performance? Then they followed up with more of the same against West Coast.

But the effort was there against the Eagles, on the weekend it was simply one team rising up (eagles) to one team on the way down (us)

Unable to play 4 quarters is the first sign of a mature team on the decline.

It happened to Geelong its happening to us and it will happen to Hawthorn soon.

How you go forward and rejuvenate the list is what makes a great club.

They seemed to run just fine in the 4th quarter.
It is the game plan. Complete, total BS game plan.
