Lachie Henderson has apparently been told by Geelong that there is a distinct possibility that the deal will not get done and he wont be at the cats next year.

Pick 9 is guaranteed to be going to Adelaide as part of the danger deal and a second round pick is also in the mix. Carlton want a pick for Henderson and Geelong may not be able to get it done.

Western Bulldogs are circling.

Geelong reluctant to use 2016 picks as they are wary of their aging list.

Interesting times for a bloke who quit his club very early in the piece.

A bit dodgy of the Cats IF, as alleged, there was basically an understanding that Lachie would go to Geelong and Geelongs first pick would be involved in a trade.

Would have influenced Hendo's decision to leave and now he is in limbo.
Also Carlton will be pissed they are no longer getting the pick 9 they thought they were getting.

If Henderson and Walker are equivalent, why would Geelong want to pick up the one who is both older and commands more $$? Why go for Lachie at all is he's 'on par' with the player first in line to be let go as steak knives?

I don't need to tell you that Henderson's value is based on a wider sample than the one year where he threw in the towel while his team imploded around him... because you already know. :)

Doesn't change the fact that a late first round pick is equivalent to a mid second rounder and a player.

And seeing as the GFC don't have a late first rounder, you might be surprised when the CFC accept the latter. ;)

We have to want the player. We are struggling to find the list spots and have few uncontracted players we want to shed. We are looking at a few GWS players and possibly Carlisle. A fringe Cats player is just another list spot we have to manage.

How often do players not get to their club of choice?

Henderson will be at Geelong in 2016. Pencil it in.

Don't forget, players have to agree to trades. If he wants to go to Geelong and Geelong only then Carlton will have to make a deal work

That's an incredibly arrogant take you have on things there.

If he wants to go to Geelong only, we don't have to do a damn thing if Geelong aren't willing to be fair. We don't want Walker and pick #28, offer something better or pull out of the chase for him. I'm sure when he finds out that Geelong doesn't think he's worth much that he'll be more keen to go elsewhere as long as his mum is within walking distance.

Not sure why Carlton fans think we would trade pick 9.... Never gonna happen for a guy who has walked out of his club and could end up in the PSD...
Not worth pick 9 even if he was contracted.

If you read the rest of my posts you would understand that I was saying that BOTH parties would come to a fair and reasonable agreement.

Alot of your fan base is simply living in a dream world by saying similar things to "pick 9 or we look elsewhere"

Makes it hard when he wants to go to the cats (if reports are true). Could risk getting nothing for him if both clubs are unwilling to compromise
