Dave, look at the backline injuries and see the experience that was lost since the beginning of the season. Brown and Maxwell both being injured hurt us immeasurably. Hart can't be blamed.

If we've sacked Hart it's a mistake, our defense is no where near the worst in the AFL (ranked 9th for points conceded) which is remarkable considering we basically haven't had our three most experienced defenders for the whole year (Reid, Brown, Maxy).

Add to that Marley's poor year on and off field, possum's return after a Reco and on a positive note the improvement in both Langdon and Frost.

Really hope this is not true, to the extent that we would consider sacking anyone before the end of the season. Not a good look and reeks of desperation. Sure, there is the annual assistant coaches merry go round, but it usually starts when the season finishes...unless of course you are an assistant at the Pies, and we are in the finals (e.g. Scott in 09, Neeld in '11, etc).

Needs to happen to get some more experience around Buckley. We need a Mark Thompson type as an assistant. Neeld, Ayres, Mark Harvey, Williams, Ratten would be the types we should be looking at. We need to pay big money to get them.

Injuries have hurt the Defense but is the worst in the AFL?

We were 3rd for points conceded when I last checked, with our midfield being continually smashed. If you think it is the worst in the AFL you have no idea whatsoever.

This rumour allegedly originated from Sam McClure of 3AW. It was posted on another forum and re-quoted on this one.

Sam McClure has denied on his twitter feed that he said anything about Hart and Lappin being sacked.

Rumour debunked.
