Las Vegas Bears Mid-Season Review:
Hello fellow Bears, welcome to our first ever mid-season review. I am you co-captain pantskyle. Today I will give a little review of each player on our list and chat a bit about the season so far.
As we are all aware as it basically punches us in the face daily we are second last on the ladder with two wins only. We seem to suffer from the inability to perform in the wet which is strange as most of us are amazing lovers.
As far as the sim goes it's been a cruel mistress and we can only hope for a change of luck in the second half of the season. Amazingly a few wins could see us in the finals race so all hope is not lost. I don't wish to dedicate too much time to the sim as it's out of our control and what happens is not avoidable.
As far as the team itself is going I couldn't be happier. When I first started to build a team with Broken there were times when I was deeply worried we couldn't make it work, that increased when he left the bid. I made a decision to approach solid names who I considered "big". It worked and paid off.
The leadership group was brought together and gelled instantly. We then were fortunate enough to sign a couple of rookies who chose to join us in the sign up thread. That mixed with the other players we had brought along means we have a solid mix and an enjoyable and eager side.
Below is some words about each player. An honest take.
ChampRevesby - Someone I know that has talent. Would love to see more of him and genuinely a good poster. Champ has the tools but needs to become more active so the rest can see what I have.
Juggalo Balla - Juggs is special, I don't mean that in a negative way. He is someone I respect in this team and like very much. I couldn't ask for anything more from him (except maybe some goals) He is my prized recruit.
getgaff - Gaffy has a lot more to give to this team, you notice him when he posts and he clearly shows support for the Bears. I'm looking forward to see just what else he can do.
hilly - hilly was an original Bear. I won't lie, I have been disappointed that he hasn't shown up. There is romance involved with him and I would love to see him thrown around some banter and get a game.
YouDontKnowJack - An early signing who also hasn't gotten involved. Hopefully in the next half of the season he shows up. Pretty funny dude when he wants to be.
DemonJim © - DJ was my chosen co-captain. Thoroughly deserved it. QOOTY season has been good but would like to see a bit more from him in match threads. Knows how to rile people up so he should do this more.
Citroin - Young Citroin started very nervously. It's not easy getting involved but he tries hard and has done more than a few. I'm fairly surprised with him as I wasn't confident he would learn the ropes so quickly. Room for improvement but has potential.
saintkildaman - SKM another early signing to the team, brought into the leadership group in a VC role. Like DJ, I would like to see more of SKM around the match threads. Time to break out a bit.
Magruder - Where does one start with Magruder? Funny and knows how to banter. One of the more impressive Bears and super talented. Big things for him, hopefully here. EKA fancy.
FiveStrings - Fivey, beast full back and not afraid to get involved. Makes me laugh and others as well. I didn't think I would get much involvement from him but he proved me wrong and is now indispensable.
The Half Back - Eager, very keen. Decided to back it all up. Took charge and is now someone I trust completely. Forced his way into the leadership group and hasn't looked back. Top quality.
Ochre - Ochre is new and hasn't done much. Still he makes me laugh and I'm just happy to have him aboard.
ioppolo - In and out of the threads but the potential is there for a quality poster/player. I think we'll see more glimpses of what he can do.
Quivorir - Meh I give him s**t but is at his best this season. I think he is enjoying it, funny thing is he can do a lot more. Watch out if he does.
pantskyle © - I won't rate myself.
kane249 - Classic Kane. Low quantity but high quality poster. If he ups the ante he'll be sought after by all teams. Big second half needed though. You can do that.
Big Cox 88 - They don't get any bigger. Like Kane has a whole lot more to give but when he does post I read it and like it. Scarey to think how good this side could be if more upped the ante.
Matera92 - Am I allowed favourites? Has launched himself as a EKA contender and I think a few captains are looking at him. Bear for life.
Greater Gattsby - Can do more but drifts in and out. Hopefully finds his happy medium and the consistency will come.
Dingster - Another original Bear. Also an absolute treat. Not afraid to get involved and is quality. Super happy that he is here and kicking strong. Never stop.
GreatBradScott - No involvement which is a shame. When we both joined he was an EKA fav so I know he has the talent, just needs to find the time.
brahj - EKA favourite, holidayed and was missed. Not bad for a rookie, this guy gets it. Already an expert. I literally need to lock him up at night to stop the poachers.
QS - Never prolific. A bit like Plugger the second time around.
Bryce_Jersey17 - More please. Another that is in and out. Full of potential so we'll just need to see if that can be shown.
Keyser Soze - Keys will just do what he wants. He is an EKA winner so knows the drill. If he wants to post he will, if not, then get him a beer.
Brown Bottle - bb fresh from a great season at the Wonders joined and was put into the leadership group. Hasn't reached the heights of last season posting wise but I know he can do better, and should do better. Step up bb. Take back your BB crown.
Bears let's enjoy the break and have a big second half to the season. Wins wins wins.
