In Australia or the United States? I know the Christian Right helped in forming an inter-faith lobby group called Morality in Media in the 1960's to pressure Lyndon Johnson to impose restrictions. It wasn't until they started getting numbers in the U.S Congress that Johnson set up the President's Commission on Obscenity and Pornography. This was in 1969.

In Australia a largely Anglican Christian Right group in 1972 formed the Australian Festival of Light and Community Standards Organisation out of an older group called the South Australian Moral Action Committee. This organisation grew through the Australian Evangelical Alliance, with notable religious figure the Reverend Fred Nile accepting leadership of its N.S.W chapter in 1973.

The organisation is now called FamilyVoice Australia.

In some instances. But are all feminists actually progressive, by the definition of the word? Don't get me wrong, there are aspects of the pr0n industry which could do with a little policing. There are enough stories floating around of wide-eyed girls going for what appeared to be modelling contracts at first, only to find they have to take their clothes off or go further and actually get ploughed by strangers. Sometimes the girls are out of pocket and feel they don't have a choice.

These 'privateers' of pr0n are pretty unscrupulous and should be shut down wherever found.

Pornography itself though? As long as its safely done between informed and consenting adults and the payscale is fair to the participants - why the hell not?

Not particularly interested in it, or the politics around it. The only thing dying about the age you refer to is the government's ability to restrict it. The invention of VHS and then the internet destroyed any ability to regulate it.
