This year Bruest maybe just, long-term Wingard will go past him very quickly.

Also, it is pointless comparing DE% of a player with a greater than 2:1 kick to handball ratio with a player that has a less than 1:1 kick to handball ratio. Of course it is easier to hit a target with a handball than a kick.

Wingard by so much it isnt funny. Just looking at the contested marks and scoring shots differential between the two is staggering, having actually seen them both, Wingard is the crème de la crème.

Not saying Bruest ain't a damn fine player. 'Cause he is. But Wingard is so much more. Sorry OP.

At least it's not a Robbie Gray comparison, that would have been embarrassing.

It's a good poll, Chad has been a bit quieter this year, I can see why you didn't use last years stats.......

Who cares about career stats. Bruest was a mature recruit coming into a quality side, whereas Wingard started as a bottom aged player in a god awful team.

Wingard's more talented, simple as that; super dynamic players like him don't come around that often. Bruest is a very good player, nothing more.

All the port supporters saying " Wow!" Or " Lol "., still doesn't change the facts.

Bruest kicks more goals, and has more assists than Wingard. Game over.

Yes Wingard has more natural talent, but as it stands, Bruest is performing his role more effectively, as a small forwards primary goal is to kick goals, or contribute to them - both of which Bruest does more of.

Wingard will likely become a superstar, but as it stands Bruest is the best small in the comp.

Easy considering Wingard missed two halves already too skew those stats (NM game and Melb game)

Luke Breust

2011: 30 goals
2012: 45 goals
2013: 40 goals
2014: 31 goals*

Considering Breust was taken with pick 47 in the 2008 rookie draft and the fact that he was overlooked by a lot of clubs makes his rise into the AFL very impressive as he's been good from the get go. While Wingard is the better player all round, I'd say Breust 'defensive' game is slightly better then Wingard's.
