The ALP are selling the Port of Melbourne to a foreign firm pazza

Why aren't you jumping up and down about that?

It's only being given some air because Obama stuck his business in the issue. Obama has more issues at home with his weak stance on terrorism than who owns the Darwin Port.

Not sure you can post that they are leasing the Port of Melbourne to a foreign firm or anyone else as the legislation to put the Port up for Lease has not even passed the Victorian Upper House.

Either way, he's entitled to defend his Prime Ministership imo especially since he is doing it from the backbench in the party that is supposed to be about individual rights. I watched the Abbott Bolt interview and, in fairness to Abbott, on several occasions he resisted invitations by Bolt to take aim at Turnbull. This is a media beat up, publicly taking interviews/writing articles from the backbench is not undermining in my book and even if it is, it's only very minor on the scale. Certainly not at the level KRudd was operating at by leaking to journalists so as ambush Gillard publicly.
He would, but his cronies have been locked out of the NSC

They will call an election when Parliament resumes next year. With the ISIS issue creating uncertainty voters will be less likely to change government. That said, the current polls tonight suggest the ALP will lose as many seats as they did last election.

You're wrong yet again. The Port of Darwin and it's land will still be owned by the Govt. Just like the Port of Melbourne.

Both setups are exactly the same.

The Terminal Operators are foreign in both instances. 1 is Chinese, 1 is from Dubai.

umm...it's part Dubai, part Toll Group (which is Japan Post).

Interesting piece by Barry Cassidy

But I would argue it's not the sackings of leaders, but rather the root causes of those sackings, that up until now has been the problem. The coups happened because of a breakdown in governance and deep disappointment with the quality of leadership in the first place.

Certainly, it is becoming increasingly clear that the latest coup - Malcolm Turnbull knocking off Tony Abbott - is more a solution to political malaise than an ongoing episode in a broken system.

Look at how the public has reacted to Abbott's demise, as evidenced by the major opinion polls.

Pollster Andrew Catsaras has crunched the numbers and found that since the change of leadership,1,100,000 voters have switched from Labor to the Coalition.

Turnbull is fast placing himself as being hypocritical. Look at Paris. He won't sign a fossil fuel rebate communique but is happy to chuck $800 million at Pacific nations on Climate Change. Duplicitous?
No is all to do with EU subsidies they effectively do a fuel rebate when u don't have a fuel rebate. Its typical EU duplicity

Not sure about that. However, it's the bigger picture. Reckon Tone could well turn out to be the wrecker Rudd was. This may well be just the start. He is a pretty good hater despite his professed Christianity.

Said it before but a lot of religious bigots are good at praying to God on sundays & on their neighbours every other day of the week.

Like so many, Abbott is a hypocrite.

I thought he was only pointing out the lies. That can hardly be classed as wrecking.

Speak for yourself. If people around you decide to lie about what transpired, surely you are allowed to set the record straight.
He's taken a pot shot at Turnbull in a speech in London. He's taken a pot shot at Turnbull in an interview on 3AW. Bishop is collateral damage in this pot shot. His real target is Turnbull. This is from a man who undertook not to "snipe" or "wreck".

Take a look at the following piece in the Fin Review. Not exactly a lefty paper.

LOL, Coorey
LOL, Not exactly a lefty paper  It's Fairfax.

I think this will be a slow grind for Labor. They'll consistent stick to the issue of Malcolm and Co undermining Abbott. Its a smart tactic, if there is one thing the public don't like, it is people who don't take ownership of their actions. So there is a lot of people out there just waiting to get the green light. Once they get the green light then Malcolm and co are going to have to explain their actions. Very rarely do these underhanded events ever just go away, once the public gets annoyed at the denial tactics, then its going to be an issue. This is going to get messy, at present we have both the Labor party and the Nationals, or far right of the Liberal party, both running the same agenda, slowly making this an issue. It won't take much for the public to turn against Bishop and Morrison, and that becomes a big issue for Malcolm.
