Not at all, this is tremendously entertaining. Knowing that we'll have marriage equality inside two years anyway, I'm happy to watch a bunch of tories make fools of themselves over this.
Don't be too sure about that. Shorten cannot win with a popularity rating of 31%.
You would have had SSM by now if your beloved Greens passed the plebiscite in the senate. Why don't you question them why they blocked it? Maybe it is because of your blinded hatred for anyone right of Lenin.

Don't be a moron all your life mate, one of my oldest, and closest mates will be a conservative Liberal Senator within the next two Parliaments. I've helped him campaign, and written material for it.

The part that its 2 concenting adults.

And this is what we are dealing with.

People associating a legally allowed practice of same sex couples between 2 adults and the banned, outlawed practice of pedo's.

Edit. You do realise Johnny Howard changed the meaning of marriage just over 10 years ago right?

He only confirmed what it had always been.

You're actually sort of correct here (hey there is a first for everything).

It was the common law position prior to Howard's amendment which he just codified the existing position.

He should have left the common law position as the common law position however and, going by your logic, had a plebiscite beforehand to enshrine it in legislation.

Let's get this vote done so we can get an 80% positive return rate and never again need to speak about equality.

Each side feels they are the silent majority, end it. Bring it into the light. Let's see what we are dealing with.

Wrap up your vulnerable friends in love, laugh at pathetic attempts to demonize their relationships in advertising, then vote.

Then it's over. Properly over and they can think of another social issue to distract us from to avoid talking about corporate tax avoidance.
I agree with some of your post. However, the support vote will be less than 55%.

It's about cost too.

This is the party of "debt and deficit disaster", "budget repair", etc and yet they are prepared to blow all this money on a glorified opinion poll?

What utter hypocrites.
This post is hypocritical. If you were in power, the budget deficit would be triple its current levels due to rampant socialism. Taxes would also skyrocket.

So you can finally admit that SSM has majority support?

The only way the yes vote will be less than 55% is if it is a postal plebiscite (which will favour older generations who are more likely to be against SSM).

How would I be in power? I'm not a politician.

I'm just calling for responsible spending by the party of "budget emergency", "debt and deficit disaster", etc.

I would have thought you would be doing the same.

The delcons already laying the platform to reject the result of a postal plebiscite in favour of SSM. Abort out today saying it "lacks legitimacy and authority".

Others have already said it previously.
Anyway, the plebiscite itself seems certain to be blocked by the Senate, and attempts to bypass the Senate will end up in the High Court.

The postal vote without parliamentary approval will at least be devoid of taxpayer funding for the campaign.

Which I actually agree with Abort on, but you just know the far right will use it as fodder to reject a result they dont like.

Ah, the current Libs have actually increased the debt far more than the last Labor government did :$
