Draft Profile Mitch Thorp

Has anyone on here who claims Thorp is an arrogant twit actually spoken to the bloke? He cops some unbelievable critiscm from so many people on here despite actually being a quiet and reserved person.

In his draft year he won no friends at Port Adelaide

IIRC Jason had a pretty bad leg injury, missed virtually a whole season, then broke his foot in his comeback game and was delisted virtually immediately. Took a few years off and now plays very well - but is a lumberer only.

Jason Laycock would have been an absolute star, if he had any natural physical gifts. Incredibly slow, not fit, didn't seem strong and couldn't jump. He did have an exceptional football brain, great hands, and great skills.

Would have been a star in a different era also.

would love freo to get him, if only going to use 3 picks then 3rd round but probably worth 4/5

Spoke to him after one of his TSL games last year and he was a down to earth, approachable kind of bloke.

Hopefully he gets another chance and puts some egg on the face of all the non-believers on here.

Big tip for Thorp. If you want people to start talking you up, then do something to deserve it. He was a flop at Hawthorn because he simply wouldn't do as he was asked, and those types of guys NEVER make it at AFL level .... whether they talk to you at the football or not.

Off the half forward line a replacement for Porps... if clubs do their due diligence and are convinced that he has changed his attitude I would be surprised if he is not somebody's third round pick...

we'd take him there hopefully.

Can confirm the Adelaide interest. Hamish Ogilvie made contact with him in May. I haven't been in touch since, but they had been the only one to enquire about him.

Really hopes he gets another chance. If his attitude and injury concerns are resolved he will be a great cheap recruit.

Any other clubs interested in Thorp except Carlton and Adelaide and which draft would he most be likely to be drafted in (National, pre-season or Rookie)

Has been invited to draft screening camp in October, someone must be interested.

By the look of it 3-4 clubs are interested.

AFL clubs submit a list of 70 players they want to test at draft camp, with prospects needing five nominations to earn an invitation
To be eligible for an invite to the combine, a player must attract interest from five different AFL clubs over the course of the year, to undergo a series of physical and mental testing, of which AFL recruiters will gain the biggest insight into their strengths and weaknesses as a player, to accompany the football they have seen from them this year. All 18 AFL clubs are required to submit a list of 70 players they wish to test at the camp.
A further 85 hopefuls will find out this week if they have been invited to their respective State Screening Combine, of which requires only 3 teams to have noted interest in a player.

Carlton, Western Bulldogs & Fremantle.

No chance of going in the 3rd Round. Rookie at best

The league is a joke down here. Its nothing to write home about that he is "tearing the comp up". There would be easily 8 teams outside the statewide league that would beat half the teams in the statewide league.

Footy in Tassie is on its knees thanks to the incompetence of the Muppets running it.

The TSL has produced some great players in recent years. Jack Riewoldt, Mitch Robinson, Aaron Hall and Grant Birchall the pick of them.

would say one of freo or calrton will get him, if carlton land watts don't think they'de be looking at him to closely.
