Some interesting numbers about Mitch and his decision to retire...

- In highlighting THAT ball that got Cook in Adelaide, it is noted that it was only the 3rd time in his career that Cook was clean bowled, despite facing over 17,000 deliveries to that point.

- Bowlers are collectively averaging 54 in this current series, the highest ever recorded in Australia.

- No bowler from any team has averaged under 30 in the last 2 seasons in Australia.

Perhaps not exactly a case of getting out while the going is good, but maybe getting out before it gets much worse? The pink ball may well be the leveller many are crying out for!

It still says something that only one bowler can scrape under the 30 mark in one of the seasons though.

I'll never forget him bowling Broad first ball in Adelaide, after Broad made him wait by dicking around with the sight screen. If it's all over for him, I doffs me lid in his direction.

Best spell of bowling I've seen live. Don't think I've heard a louder roar at the cricket after that wicket of Broad, sent that flog off the ground quick smart!

I was a LH batsman when I played and that delivery was unplayable even for a righthander!

We bowled absolutely beautifully to Cook all summer. Unrelenting from both ends.

Class player who's done extremely well to brush off the heroes who came out of the woodwork very quickly when he was down.
