I've got a stepladder named Claude and a tall ladder named Larry.....

On a less serious note, picking up on Saintly's thread and some of the chat from SEN's allnite pancake parlor preview, perhaps it is a good time to look at the likely ladder come the end of round 22 (or 23 or whatever they call it now).

My take:

1. Sydney
2. Hawthorn
3. North
4. Freo
5. Port
6. Gold Coast
7. Adelaide
8. Geelong

9. Richmond (please)
10. Collingwood
11. Brisbane
12. Carlton
13. West Coast
14. GWS
15. Western Bulldogs
16. Melbourne
17. St Kilda
18. *essendon

Carlton at 15 would provide some entertainment on BigFooty, especially if the GoDees ended above them. :p

4. North
5. Geelong
6. Fremantle
7. Gold Coast
8. Adelaide

I think picking the top 8 is easier than knowing where the bottom half will finish up.

Likely only a game or two between 10th and 17th, with StK a clear last.

Pretty close to how I'm seeing it too MR, although this season feels almost too close to try and predict.

I reckon Freo have been underrated, Port overrated. If the ladder did finish that way and we could win in a QF and get the week's break, we'd then likely meet Hawks in a PF, and if we won that, Freo or Port in a GF.

Don't really care what order those below 8th finish, although we all love a 9thmond.

Probably agree. Not that Port are necessarily headed for a massive drop, and they don't look likely to have important players fall off a cliff this year ...

... but ...

I don't think their depth has been all that well tested or hardened, and it's worth noting that their mid season slump happened to coincide with losing a couple of KPDs to injury. I reckon they're on a bit of a knife edge depthwise.

Richmond 9th, Carlton and Collingwood in the bottom 6 or 8, and *essendon wooden spooner.....now that would be a dream season. Make it happen, footy gods.

Losing to any of the bottom 5 in Victoria will be abysmal. Their lists are poor to turgid.
