Don't forget Ambrose and Owen Kelly are both driving in the first ever Nationwide race at Mid-Ohio [replaces Montreal] this sunday morning.
Ryan Truex will practice and qualify Ambrose car while he's in Michigan for Sprint Cup practice and qualifying.Ambrose will have a couple of practice sessions tomorrow at Mid-Ohio.
Kelly is driving Kyle Buschs #54 Monster Energy car again.

Saw the WG replay this morning. When you see Ambrose get all pissed and thrown his helmet into his car, all I though was "Why couldn't you smash into Greg Murphy like that!"
Or Kevin Harvick...

Ambrose finished 7th and Owen Kelly 23rd in this mornings Nationwide race at Mid-Ohio.
Kelly qualified 3rd and Ambrose 19th [Ryan Truex qualified his car] but had to start 39th due to Truex qualify his car.
Kelly ran top 5 for most of the race and was running 3rd on the last lap when it looks as though Sam Hornish Jr spun him into a gravel trap.He finished 23rd.
Ambrose came flying through the field and with just under 20 laps to go was about 6th when he got spun off track by .....Owen Kelly  He got back on track in around 12th then 2 laps later got spun again by Parker Kligerman and dropped to 15th.

Kurt Busch headed to Stewart-Haas? Stewart Haas Racing has submitted a formal offer to #78-Kurt Busch to drive a fourth Sprint Cup entry beginning in 2014, multiple NASCAR sources have confirmed to ESPN.com. The proposed deal would team Busch with team owner Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick and Danica Patrick in the SHR stable. Asked for confirmation Sunday, SHR spokesman Mike Arning submitted the following statement via email: "Stewart-Haas Racing constantly strives to improve itself, and expansion is something that is often discussed. If the right opportunity presents itself, it's something the team will certainly consider." Busch was unavailable for comment Sunday night. Sources said Haas/CNC would sponsor Busch's car, should he choose to sign with SHR. Busch has performed quite well this season in the #78 Chevy from Furniture Row Racing, but team sources say FRR has yet to offer him a contract extension.(ESPN)(8-19-2013)

Oh my,SHR might have to be re-named Team Dickheads if that happens

Matt Kenseth won the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol from Kasey Kahne with Juan Pablo Montoya third. Marcos finished 8th but was 5th very late in the race until he was passed by a few cars in the final laps.

Jimmie Johnson still leads on points from Clint Bowyer, both of whom are now locked into the chase. A host of other drivers including Carl Edwards and Lyle Busch could also secure their spots this weekend. Marcos remains 22nd in points but won't be in the chase this year.

It's official,SHR now stands for s**t Head Racing after Kurt Busch confirmed he's joining Stewart,Harvick & Danica next year.

I have to say i have gained a significant amount of respect for Kurt this year, doubt he can actually keep it now hes back in a good seat with some job security though.

A few driver changes for 2014 announced in recent weeks

- Kurt Busch to Stewart Haas
- Harvick to Stewart Haas
- Brian Vickers to drive the MWR #55 car fulltime next year
- A.J Allmendinger to replace Bobby Labonte in the JTG Daugherty #47 car
- Kyle Larson just announced as Montoyas replacement in the EGR #42 car

The finish to the Truck race on a road course in Canada was an interesting one

Only to be topped by Mad Max Papis getting slapped by fellow driver Mike Skeens attack dog [his ggirlfriend]
Perhaps the attack dog should watch a replay.Skeen dive bombed Papis and it was all his fault

If this was a "grass-root" level meeting she would more than likely be charged with assault... Skeen should get a fine and or suspension. Very poor. Will be interesting to see what happens between Dillon and Elliot next race.

Not sure if Larson is ready for Sprint Cup, but his inexperience hasn't stopped him succeeding in the past. Hopefully Chip lets him setup a World Of Outlaws team or 2 with backing from Target. :p

Rumours circulating he will start a team with Shane Stewart at the wheel.

Carl Edwards won the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond International Raceway. Kurt Busch finished second with Ryan Newman, Jamie McMurray and Paul Menard rounding out the top five. Marcos finished in 27th, three laps down.

That was also the last race before the Chase which means the following drivers have qualified with the new points order below,

Code:
Driver Points Behind

Matt Kenseth 2015 Leader
Jimmie Johnson 2012 -3
Kyle Busch 2012 -3
Kevin Harvick 2006 -9
Carl Edwards 2006 -9
Joey Logano 2003 -12
Greg Biffle 2003 -12
Clint Bowyer 2000 -15
Dale Earnhardt Jr 2000 -15
Kurt Busch 2000 -15
Kasey Kahne 2000 -15
Martin Truex Jr 2000 -15

Joey Logano qualified for the chase by one point over Jeff Gordon after finishing the race in 22nd position. Kasey Kahne grabbed the first of the chase wild cards while Martin Truex Jr got the second wild card, having to go back to a countback over Ryan Newman. Truex's second place finish at Texas got him through in the end via the tiebreaker.

Brad Keselowski won't be defending his championship after failing to qualify for the chase with Gordon, Denny Hamlin and the injured Tony Stewart also failing to make this year's chase after qualifying in 2012.

Nascar have just booted Truex Jr from The Chase and replaced him with Ryan Newman. This is because Truex Jr's teammate Clint Bowyer delibrately spun with 7 laps to go,causing a caution and stuffing up Newman's lead.

MWR have been fined $300,000,their general manager suspended indefinately and all 3 drivers [Bowyer,Truex Jr,Vickers] docked 50pts each.
