i hear rumors that paul pierce is on his way for 1 year
to say im a little excited (all but prematurely) is an understatement

I think you may have heard an April fool's rumour......

A mate put this post up on Facebook and tagged another mate who's a massive basketball fan. She got that excited she tagged Boti Nagy (The Advertiser's chief basketball writer), who had to break the news to her it was an April Fools joke.

I just looked at my phone in hysterics- I knew she was gullible but I didn't know she was that gullible.

Any NBL fan should have a watch of this....

Points
1. Get Basketball people with good business experience back to the game ie Brian Kerle, Bob Turner, Damian Keogh
2. Make the WNBL and NBL is the crown.
3. Play the game in winter so talent can play in Europe
4. Increase the cap to $3m
5. Scrap the player points system
6. Play in bigger stadiums but reduce the price
7. Have full time referees
8. Have teams in Hobart, Canberra, and Brisbane
9. Get excitement back with positive commenters
10. Play 48 mins
11. Run promotions for sponsors
12. Have development squads.
13. Etc

1) get the right people; doesn't matter if they are basketball people or not but as long as they are the right people.
2) Can you explain this a bit more. Not following what you mean.
3) YESSSSSSSSS, agree 100%. Moving to summer when they diud was the right move but it's the time to move back. I think more families will be winning to go during winter than during the Christmas/new year period.
4) agree as you need to spend money to make money but that's a huge risk with not a huge income as it is.

5, 6, 7 8, 9, 10) - 100% with them all.

11) would love to see a national under 20 NBL/WNBL league or a reserves comp.

Agree.

That's why Basketball Australia and the NBL have to be complete different organisations. BA should be looking at getting players into the best league they can, the NBL should be making the best league thery can.

I have some ideas

Game Rules and Refereeing
1. Have a defensive three second rule
2. 48 minute games
3. 6 foul limit
4. no hands or arm bars on the ball handler
5. Limit time outs to 3 per half
6. Clearway rule

Fixtures
1. More is less, 10 teams playing twice with a final five.
2. Melbourne's teams never to play on Fridays especially at home unless on the school holidays (rep ball)
3. No mid week games unless on Public Holidays and in New Zealand.

Relationships
1. Develop links with NBA teams
2. Develop an Asian League like the Euro League
