Not Lindros, he only played in the NHL as a teenager for half of a season. Spent most of the previous season with the Canadian National Team preparing for the '92 Olympics after refusing to play for the Nordiques.
Ahh yes. The whole "Eric's not coming so trade me" fiasco.

Scoring 100 points in his one and only year seems to me he was handling the pressure just fine on the ice.

Did the fans drive him out of the city?

They didn't drive him out, more of a "ho-hum" you're not Gretzky from memory. All the vitriol was directed at Pocklington. Martin Gelinas, the other player involved in the trade to Edmonton, was very popular over time. Carson probably would have been fine after a while but the trade to Detroit was a key to the Oilers next Stanley Cup (Murphy, Klima and Graves) so it worked out very nicely for Edmonton.

"Good not great" is the quote for that Carson season, 100 points that season was lower than his previous season and good for ninth in the league and second on the team behind Kurri (Mario on top with 199 points). His move to Detroit put him on the 3rd line behind Yzerman and Fedorov. Never got the scoring touch back after that, less ice time couldn't have helped.
