Opinion No Cloke = No Collingwood

Problem as a 19 Year Old he would be Bullied my Mature Ruckman
I'm with northpie on this one, I don't think it would be best to chuck Moore in the ruck at his age and frame. In the situation that Cloke, Moore and Reid are playing forward at the same side I'd get Cloke to go in the ruck for a little bit. He certainly has the tank for it and the size, plus he did play a little bit in the ruck when he was younger. I don't think we would see a repeat of the Dawes situation (where he lost all confidence playing in the ruck), I reckon it would actually help Cloke out a bit by giving him a bit of a break from the forwardline and let someone else be the main target up forward. Also to have three talls up forward who can all take contested marks would be so refreshing, I'm so sick of White and his dropped marks.

Daniher did some rucking in his first year and became the number one forward second ruck in his second year. Moore's job will be easier since he'll be the third forward.

He would be the third forward either way because he would be the third biggest threat for most of the game and get the third best tall defender. it's also about who would be more effective in the ruck and I think Cloke would do better, especially in stoppage hitouts.

Would rather not take our number 1 forward who draws the best defender every game sometimes even two out of the forward line. Moore won't ruck this year but after a pre season he might be bulked up enough to pinch hit in the ruck. I don't think either of Cloke or the early stages of Moore will be particular effective in the ruck but Moore's second efforts and ground level ability would make him the upper hand IMO, plus the leap and height of Moore will be effective in the centre bounces.

I'm not sure who mentioned Roughead, but he rucked when Buddy Franklin was still playing.

Roughhead missed 2 games with a cancer scare and they won both.

One where Cyril kicked 5 straight from 8 kicks.... if he'd kicked that straight on the weekend the Hawks would have beaten the tiges even though they played poorly for four quarters!! Roughy out whilst its a big deal isn't as crucial as Cloke to us or Hawkins at Geelong. They are our main focal points and contested players.

WAs really interesting analysis, and I think highlighted the value of big kpf. J Brown talked about the importance of the leading kpf in bringing other fwds into the game by contesting for the football and providing a target. Think if Reid can get fit and become 2nd fwd then Moore can develop as the third kpf. only question then becomes who cuts out in the ruck. I think Clokey has the tank to do so and adopt a role similar to what Roughhead does at the hawks. throw in motlop if we could get him, faslolo, Elliott and rotating midfielder our forward line looks potent. Quite a few ifs and buts there but you have to be optimistic about the future , because its hard to be optimistic about the present performance of the Pies

Don't think Roughie has had a run in the ruck since he did his Achilles. Just not worth the risk and I'd be apprehensive about playing Cloke in a 2nd ruck role for similar reasons, particularly as he struggled through 2014 with (alleged) knee tendonitis issues. Reid's history of soft tissue issues make him even less likely. So if you're going with a F50 of Cloke, Reid and Moore and not including White or 1 of Witts or Grundy, Moore becomes the most likely candidate despite his lack of physical readiness.

This pretty much confirms we should forget about using a 1st round round pick on another mid or trade for Treloar and instead get an key position forward.

Well Hate to say Treloar to Collingwood going by Media Reports is a pretty Sure Thing

Actually Roughead played as the second ruck during 2012 after recovering from his Achilles injury and still kicked 41 goals

Stand corrected, thought he'd played as a ruck-rover type. Still don't think either Cloke or Reid will or should be risked in the ruck.

That is because Essendon ha stuff all help for Daniher when they Drafted Him
