Stop umpires paying stupid holding the ball free kicks in instances where the player had very little realistic opportunity to get rid of the ball, as part of their weekly training the umpires should be put in general AFL match situations so they have a better understanding on what should be a free kick and what mistakes they're making (such as being too harsh on player having opportunity or not putting in enough effort).

The "hands in the back" rule should be adjudged upon the player's feet. Pushing / wrestling without holding permitted as a battle of strength is fair. If the player under the ball has a stationary position then he holding his ground is obvious.
