I usually vote liberal in the state election , the day bof refused to match the fed grant for the art gallery and the state refused to save the newie historic post office turned me off ,after selling the port closing the rail at the behest of developers like mcloy why can't the hunter have some culture and heritage ,even a corrupt labor party would have done better for this region .i dont like labor or liberal ill vote for whoever i think is going to give the hunter region a fair go

well baird should have thought of that before using this election as a mandate for flogging off more state assets, I don't agree with it and won't vote for it.

Oppositions don't get elected, governments lose power through their own actions.

There has been plenty of terrible opposition parties that have been elected over the years because the incumbent government had either shown themselves to be incompetent or had lost touch with the electorate.

The alternative is to borrow huge amounts (hasn't worked for the ALP in a century or more but this time it'll be different ) and at least future generations will continue to receive returns from these assets

Looks like the Libs will pull this easily unfortunately, although Foley looks like taking it closer than it seemed to be a couple of months ago. Had a look at the candidates, this is probably what I'm going to go with.

The ALP's problem is not only have they flogged assets like a man with 4 arms but once sold off, the ALP have then proceeded to hose the proceeds up against the wall
