Yeah, I'm one of Ludeman's biggest fans and it would take a miracle for him to play test cricket unfortunately. Carters is another but I know next to nothing about his keeping ability and could get in there as an opener anyway.

At some point Ludeman actually has to make some runs and not just be touted as handy with the bat.

Yeah pretty much, gets out far too cheaply at times. I think playing at Adelaide Oval half effects his game because half his innings are either shortened or he's told to look for quick runs. But I think i'd be right in saying that all of his 50+ innings were at AO so needs to do more.

What about FC games? Averaging 25 batting half of the time there for a 27 year old is hugely unimpressive. Personally I think you'd be better off looking for a better option.

Berry loves him though , i'm a fan of him and want him to succeed but he needs to be under pressure. That's what I meant, rarely at Adelaide Oval is a side under any real pressure halfway through an innings, look at last season there was not one result there... So half the innings end up being declarations or slogs

Yeah, has been 12th man a couple of times so far. The competition for spots there is ridiculous... feel sorry for the guys having to sit out for test players in their odd game back

I suppose having Botha around the same position in the order strengthens their middle/lower order. Still, no harm in searching out better options.
