I wrote this song about my late grandfather a few years ago. He died in 1986, 8 years before I was born, but my dad named me after him. Dad told me that shortly before he passed, Souths got smashed by the Chooks and there was a full moon. In 2012, "that" game (you can take me now, I have seen it all) was played the day before the 26th anniversary of his passing. A few days ago, Dad made a connection that we've never realised. My grandfathers birthday is the 19th of August, 19/08. South Sydney were formed on Saint Anthony's Day, the 17th of January, 1908. So here's to the original Anthony Deep, rest in peace.
