Hi all very pleased on behalf of everyone involved in our community to present the design of the proposed Olinda Reserve Community Facility. We were able to unveil the design today after 5 years of very hard work. A big thanks to the Hilltop Committee and all the users groups for the support and belief in the project.

thanks to everyone who took the opportunity to have a look at the upgrade to the Olinda Reserve Building.
Hilltop will soon have its own website where you can view the new facilty.

Great news, Steve!
The plans look fantastic. A tribute to all the work and planning by you nad your group.
Best of luck for the rest of the journey.

Looks really good, only comment is there is no Trainers room for visiting team, also there is no change room for female umpires.

What is the schedule for building works????

Hi Guru,

Thanks for feedback.

In answer to your points - there is no Trainers Room allocated for Visitors rooms, however you'll find that the space in that changeroom is pretty big, and the eventual designated area for strapping tables etc will be more than enough to suit.
As far as female umpires go, to the right of the entrance as you walk in, there are 2 cubicles. Each cubicle contains it's own shower, as well as a good sized change area. Each is fully lockable and will act as uni-sex change facilities.

Cheers

Sounds fantastic - any word on timetable??? I think everyone from your members and players to all the other clubs are hanging out to get in.

Oh sorry, forgot to add.
Hoping for start of Feb as commence date (currently going through Town Planning)
A quick build would see about a 3-4 month build time, but given weather conditions etc, I'd suggest more like 5-6 months (effectively ruling out all winter most likely)
Committee has been working on contingancy for a while but I don't actually know what that is, possibly temporary canteen facilities etc, and maybe using the Hall beside the ground as a changeroom facility. Honestly have no idea !

just letting everyone know that work has finally commenced on the old rooms.Estimated completion date is mid august

how about a room for us poor camera guys. show and rain !

Hi all,

Just to update you, Clubrooms have now completely been removed and builder preparing the area for foundations. Such a huge area with nothing on it, was a bit surprised.

We also turned on our comp standard lights last night, absolutely stunning to be honest. With so many trees around, it really locks the light in and magnifies it.

The landscape is changing for us up here, bit late for some of us but what a time to be a kid growing up in the hills !!

Ciao for now

TS

Olinda Reserve Community Facility officially opened this morning, with a host of dignitaries and stakeholders in attendance. It's been nearly 7 years to the day since the Hilltop Recreation Association first sat down to begin the process to produce what we now have (see attached).

We are committed to operating out of the new facility for our last 2 home and away games against Mt.Evelyn and Upwey/Tecoma, beginning this week.

A new era for this area begins this weekend !

Will drop in on Saturday lunch time to have a good look over. We are familiar with the plans and are using them as a reference in our own development. We have taken a keen interest in the hard work you guys at Hilltop have been doing. Kicking goals all over the place, aren't you?
Well done again.

We are definately kicking goals up here my friend, 1 more last Saturday might've been handy !!!!

Maaaaaassive day up at Olinda tomorrow, 21 degrees and just magnificent conditions to watch an Elimination Final 1 week early. Mountain Bloods vs Mountain Tigers for the Bendigo Bank Perpetual Shield, as well as the clubs opening of the new rooms. It will be absolutely jammed tomorrow with a finals like atmosphere promised, so whether you support either club or you are a neutral, get up the hill and watch it all unfold !

21 degrees in Melbourne maybe, not so sure about Olinda

Great Facility-toilets and showers that actually worked.Large Social Rooms congratulations on a great achievement.

It's a lot closer to the sun though??

Ha ha, I've often thought that. Actually, a pretty good day up at Olinda. Fantastic crowd, new rooms are outstanding and the footy was pretty good too. Upwey looked sharp and it wouldn't surprise me if they made the Granny and from there anything can happen.

Some amazing scenes up here on Sunday, with well over 700 coming through across Div 2 2nd Semi Final Day. Terrific feedback from all players (boys and girls) regarding the rooms, ground in ripper condition for footy with the Senior game producing a huge 70 shots at goal combined. And the Netball was huge, with A Grade playing it's 2nd Semi under lights in a twilight fixture which worked beautifully. By the days end, we'd had people on their feet for over 12 hours, super effort by all up here !!
