Share your memories, photos, videos of players who have worn the #19 Guernsey for the Carlton Football Club

Eddie will clearly be the standout here as he should be having played 180+ games - the most anyone has for the club in that jumper.

One player I will mention though is Brad Pearce. An absolute favourite of mine growing up, he played a critical role in our 1995 success which should never be underestimated.

Very effective and dangerous player up forward who complimented the likes of Kernahan and Spalding beautifully as that 3rd forward who played taller than he was.

50+ goals in a premiership year and whilst he was never able to replicate that feat in future years - he did reach 30 goals in a number of other seasons - his impact in that year in particular is often underestimated or even forgotten.

Eddie clearly but it has been a long time between drinks since 1995 and we wouldn't have pulled off such a great year if it wasn't for Pearce. He was one out of the box.

I remember Rohan Burke too, another player that couldn't get too much of a look in being at a strong Carlton club in the early 80s.

Brad Pearce for me with Chooka Merrington a very close second. He had a heart the size of Phar Lap did Chooka and often rucked against much bigger ruckmen but never gave in.

Pearce's 95 season was something to behold. A thumping kick, quick on the lead and strong overhead. Such a tough match up for the opposition!

Pretty sure Rohan was the son of Gerald Burke?

I'll go for Pearce if only for the fact he came into my café a few months back and came up to me and asked if he could get some milk warmed up for his baby. When I replied "no problem, Brad" he gave a surprised look that I knew who he was. We had a little chat and he was incredibly nice. Good fella. :)
Gave Mansfield a bath in the '95 GF.
Oh Eddie was ok too in the number 19
;)

Betts then Pearce.
Would have been harder to separate had Pearce had more longevity in the game, but what a year he had in '95.

Special mention Andrew Phillips as well. Could have been a very very good rover for us in the early '90's had it not been for a terrible back injury that finally forced him from the game.

+1

Pearce spent way too much time fiddling with that lame ponytail.

Glad I wasn't sitting with you in '95.
You would have mentioned that every week, and I may have had to whack you over the head with my milkcrate....

Pearce was a ripper. Despite all the higher profile legends in that 95 team my favourite memories from that year and him steaming out from the goal square on a lead and them bombing a set shot from outside 50! Injuries caught up with him after that season but he was just a pleasure to watch in full flight.
