Analysis One of the mysteries of draft night ...

Crocker: had no idea what club he was going to, his mum had packets of balloons of all different colours to cover any eventuality of what club he ended up at ...

... and yet they were being filmed watching the draft, he was wearing a Collingwood polo very soon after, and the video of his evening was loaded up on the CFC website very quickly. Surely it couldn't have been done by Collingwood media? Having lukem with a camera in one hand and a CFC polo top in the other mighta kinda given the game away?

Brenden Sier: much the same

Tom Philips: much the same

How did that work???

Did the AFL hire every camera crew in Melbourne to go armed with 18 club polo tops to film every draft prospect watching the draft?

Or did freelance camera crews take the initiative to do it, and sell the footage to the destination club?

Or ...?

Vey good question '76 and I'm sure if he can Luke will shed a little light on it.

I watched the videos, didn't see them being filmed during the draft? Looked like someone from CFC went around asap e.g. 1 hour after the draft to film them and do the interview.

Listen to the SEN interview (audio) on the the CFC website.

Around 2 min mark his mum mentions they were being filmed. Only other thing I could think of is they were being filmed by AFL people for some kind of piece/doco on draftees? Cos we haven't seen any of that vision from CFC. Not sure why we would film it without intending to show it, sounded like a great moment for them.

I reckon they would have been spoken to by the club earlier and told look, we're a big chance to take you, if your still available at pick so and so we'll pick you up. And if no other club said so much they would have some idea what's going down.

It's the only reason Crocker had 60 blokes rock up to his house in Collingwood gear...

Only way they could do this if it was done by the AFL themselves. I think the polo given to Crocker was by a mate not the club? I would like to know how that works though. I'm sure Lukem could shed some light in to it.

Judging by the video from Crocker,s draft night he does not have many mates who don,t follow the Pies usually only see that many people with Pies gear on at the football itself.

Crocker's Mum was on SEN Morning after the Draft and Said CTV was there when he was Selected.

Suprising we have not seen the Footage yet though

A lady at work is brayden's next door neighbour and was at Sier's house for the draft....she said Collingwood media turned up pretty quick but were not there when it happened and that the family had no idea who would take him.

Gretel Killeen was the culprit. She hosted.

This is Big Brother... It's time to go... To Collingwood....

Then big brother repeated process until each pick revealed.

Or the draft is done around lunchtime that day behind closed doors giving enough time for clubs and the AFL to adequately roll out the full production for the world to see at 7pm
