Busted about 50 shy of the money in the 1k main, was extremely card dead could never win two pots in a row, shocked I made it so deep but structure was good and managed a double up here and there

What are everyone's thoughts on the river shove?

^ ^ its pretty hard in tournaments to get reliable data on any of the players - they talk about poker being a game of incomplete information, well in tournaments, especially online, its about as incomplete as you can get.

Looked up villain on OPR and he's a winning tournament player, I think without any other information I would look at the timing in between his bets - if he's just gone bet bet bet shove with little or no pause in between his betting a lot of the time he's decided beforehand he's going to do that, which would point to a 3-street bluff.

Guess it also depends on how active he's been - he'd likely play AK exactly the same way as he would KK. TBH if you've called turn thinking he's bluffing or that you are ahead, and you've already committed over a third of your stack, I can't really see any other play but to stack off on the river. That's the adjunct to that old poker rule about finding the earliest point to fold in a hand; the river isn't, if you've called flop and turn and the board hasn't changed dramatically on the river its probably just best to follow through with the reads you had on the flop and turn.

 guy writes it was a misclick

This one is a little more interesting, villain has a very high open stat from SB when folded to, I would be flatting medium strength hands (KJ, KQ, A10 and the like) 3 betting premiums and complete trash (as below). His c-bet flop doesn't really mean anything in terms of his range, I would expect him to barrell flush draws, Qx, over-pairs, sets/two pair, any straight draw on the turn, and I'm betting turn to represent those hands. I think I made a mistake in not making the turn bet bigger given what I was trying to rep, setting up a river shove with effective stacks, but I was happy with my bluff sizing on the river, when he called I thought for sure he had something like K10. Have to admit you know you are a saddo when you laugh at a hand like this for about 15 minutes afterward (which I did!)

fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffssssssss, folded about three AK before that and two QQ. grrrr.

Unlucky in the first hand camsmith, but when you shove for a total of 2.5bb he is going to look you up very wide.

Without knowing anything else about the session, maybe you just lost a big pot to get to that position, but I would suggest looking to steal blinds more when we are down to that 10bb range or so.

Just busted red 11, because I never believe, especially if they are 3 betting from the blinds, anyway had one good hand....lovely river.

Was tired and emotional there.

What I was saying was was I was folding everything that came to me in the hope to avoid the bubble. In the end I gave into temptation. As Ashley12 says that was my mistake. I needed to work on stealing some blinds etc..

I don't know how people here do all night sessions. I cashed in another tournament that night but it was getting to 7am and the cbf mentality came into it, in the end I busted when I could easily have gone further with better concentration.

Agree with the all-night sessions thing, very hard to maintain focus and play well when not rested etc. My worst mistakes come when I'm tired or on auto-pilot after playing for hours.

I use Hold Em Manager, which isn't free. Pretty sure you can get it free though by regging on certain sites and playing a heap on those sites. If there are free ones they will be on 2plus2, pretty sure they have a dedicated forum there for that sort of thing.

You're not stealing blinds with AK, you're looking for a double up. It can be hard to stick your stack in on the bubble but its just something you have to do when you're short, especially with strong hands. The more you play the more comfortable you'll be with it (especially after you do so and get some double ups and realise you're not always going to bust). In the end, it'll make you more money and thats what its all about.

As for all night sessions, its tough. Several times I've attempted to play through Sunday night into Monday morning for the majors but end up pulling the pin mid session before the million starts. So from now I dont play Monday mornings unless I get some sleep sunday afternoon. Its tricky but if you plan it from Saturday onwards its easier.

And yeah not really sure any 'free' software exists, but I use holdem manager as well. There are ways you can earn it like Happy said through playing with affiliated sights but I'm not sure how much of a pain in the ass it is. There should be a free trial, so have a go and see if you think its worth the money (hint though, make sure you're already saving your hand histories. Its tilting when you're playing on a new comp before you get HM installed and realized you havent saved any hands since you've been on there)
