Any1 in here who has a interest or knows much about the PFL in WA ??? Whats the goss for the 2006 season ???

I thought maybe I could try and stimulate this thread as it never seem to got started. Maybe due to the fact that there was a PFL forum from 2004 - 2009 but it seems it has been taken off the internet due to certain issues.

From memory there were a decent amount of members who would come in and talk about the league so if we could get some of those people in here it would be great for the league as there is not a forum anymore for the competition. You can add me as a referral as well if you are a new member as I have 0 :(. 1 would be nice :D

Any members who know anything about the PFL? I assume you would know something peterss

Can Waroona go back to back? They won the flag last year right?

Yeah, why did Safety Bay leave? Surely it isn't closer to playing in the ammo's (perth way) in comparison to the peel based clubs. Was it a money issue?

They wanted a league side in the PFL (They only had colts and rserves) but they didnt get one and dont blame them either as the umpire change rooms are tiny as and struggle to fit in umpires for one game let alone more then one grade between breaks etc......Not sure of there reason for leaving but no biggie IMO....Back to 8 teams who all have colts, reserves and league sides now so its good for all sides.

I can remember things were looking very promising for the PFL in 06/07. I think Halls head and Safety bay started a colts team in 07 and were meant to progress to have a full club by 2010 and therefore there would be a 10 team comp. But Harvey left after 08 season, Armadale came and went and Safety bay were expect to stay for the future of the PFL but didn't so its back to the traditional 8 team comp.

South Mandurah
Mandurah
Baldivis
Pinjarra
Centrals (mundijong)
Waroona
Halls Head
Rockingham

I heard Kenwick may be in the PFL in 2010 so that would make it a 9 team comp

Top stuff there Peterss, its funny seeing South Mandurah that low on the ladder do you know if Rod "rocket" Tregenza is still having a run?

Waroona appear to have built a good team, those 20 - 23 year olds were always talented players and it seems they are showing it at league level now. Really too early to say how things will go.

I thing though I hope doesn't happen is bring those Hall head boys into the league and have them play resys for numbers. Halls head League and Resys will struggle this year as do clubs who are only starting up. Halls head colts have been strong in previous years so hopefully they all stay together in the colts and not wreak that chemisty by having some going to league

If a player is good enough to play League, why play in the Colts? Surely a young player would be striving to play League football as soon as possible?

This anything like the SWFL pay wise?

If a colts team has the opportunity to win a flag which I get the feeling they are in that catagory they should stay in there grade. The league side from the looks of things only having a resys team in the comp last year will struggle to win any league games this year despite limited recruits they have gainned. Besides I am sure colts players would perfer fun, playing with mates, age baseds players (similar speed / weight) and winning games compared to loosing every week, playing with older men, limit or no mates in side.

The only pro to playing league footy compared to colts is the Time in which the league game starts, and the fact you are awesome because you are playing league at a colts age:D:D

Paying wise RTsoft wouldn't be as great compared to SWFL in cash number or number of players recieving money for games. But awesome players still recieve $500 odd a game and some clubs did support the good commited local players who recieved $100 a game at times.

pacemaker....No idea as to if Rodney is dtill going around....Both of his knees are shot so no idea....Wil try find out though.

Would be a loss for the league if he isnt around but also a good thing as South can actually find antoher target upfront for the first time in 5 years...rather then kicking it to Rod whose to lazy to go anywhere else but kill the grass in the goal square :p

If he is not playing this year, I get the feeling if Souths are around the 4 - 6 mark on the ladder he will be talked in to coming back mid season and souths will chuck a bit of $$$ in his back pocket.

Rod Tregenza is playing for SMFC he their captain, kicked 3 goals which was half his teams score but both teams appearedabit rust & game was scrapppy.Rod got sent off on the w/e with a yellow card for a late head high front on charge in the 3rd quarter.

Would love to play...but that depends on finding work there...Will be staying with my brother, have not worked out when i might go to W.A just as yet.

Well done to the PFL for making it to the GF in the A grade of the championships in their first year back in 6 or 7 years.

Also well done to the colts for smashing everyone in the B grade colts comp. Mark my words they will give SWFL colts a run for their money next year, they would have given them a run for their money this year had they been given the chance in A grade. PFL colts to knock off SWFL of 7 or so championships in a row at colts. Bookmark it
