Having said that, it was quite a weak draft after about pick 20.

2013 was a bigger loss, won't say who we would've drafted had we kept our first pick as you'll spit out your weetbix.

There have been some weird choices this year. The nom Charlie got was not his best performance (in fact I think Crouch had a better game that week). Maybe this is a square-up.

It's give me massive faith in our club moving forward when we draft a player like this at #81 (did I get that right?) The recruiters have really done an admiral job considering the Tippett BS and this is just another big tick in their box.

I think the point is, the length of time it takes a draftee to get a game at AFL level is not a definitive measure of worth, especially when he came to the club with issues in terms of his physical preparation.

Writing him off because it took a couple of years to make the standard, when he was never going to play in those years, was pretty foolish in that situation.

I wonder whether the long wait time was the wake up call for him to knuckle down?
